I imagine this noise is the big end bearings wat u think

definitely a bearing. only rattles on partial throttle ie when cruising.

should disappear at idle and when on boost.

might not be big end, might be one of the conrods.

but sounds exactly like the noise from both the CA engines i had die. if you crack it open now you *may* be able to save it. if you leave it longer you get bad stuff happening

wat would be cheaper new motor or getting this one fixed?

New motor.

getting a rebuild is upwards of $4k.

new RB20 could be put in for much less than that.

big ends for sure!!

if its a new noise and hasn't got any worse than what you hear in the video then there may be a chance you can get the motor pulled out and only get the crank removed & machined + a new set of bearings. probably be alot cheaper. make sure they are a good shop that checks bearing crush cause you dont want to go back twice.

cheers every1 found another rb20 for 600 bucks so properly gonna go with that option
