have 330mm centre of wheel to guard front height on SK's circlip adjustable whiteline/bilstein combos. Bump stops are foamies trimmed down to about 30mm as recomended...

A year after ok'ing the install, pedders tells me that they recomend raising and because it's bottoming out on the bumpstops. (?)

what.

springs are fine. Shocks are fine.... WTF?

i do have understeer and lock up on braking on bumpy roads... so the ride out front is too harsh which would indicate the bumpstops interupting suspension travel... but they aren't too long by what I can tell...

I don't understand... I was going to take them out and trim again to see if that made a difference but it looks like the shop has stripped my wheel nuts in the last wheel alignment and after about 2 turns i can't budge them with a breaker bar...

FARK ME...

has anyone else had these problems....?

I had what sounds like exactly the same issues as you describe. If your issues are like mine, your ride will eventually get softer as your bump stops get destroyed and thus clearance improves.

However I used the standard ones which had perished already, and the bilstein (actually whiteline I think) ones are softer and might survive better.

At any rate I am betting that you don't have enough bump stop clearance. Understeering on bumpy roads is nasty, so is locking up the front brakes at the first hint of a bump going down hill. I recommend you get the bump stops checked out - you might need another 10 or 20mm clearance. In my experience you DON'T want to be hitting the bump stops all the time, that wrecked my ride and handling. I would've taken them out all together if that was the only solution (although I then would have thought less of the kit design!).

My issues are documented from this post here:

PS 330mm sounds a bit low (think the kit height was supposed to be 340mm? close enough I guess) I think mine's set at 360mm.

yeah it is low :)

but i've heard of many other people on here rockin around with stuff at this heiht and I've never heard anyone having issues with bump sto pclearance... so just wanted to know how much their's was trimmed...

thanks DaveB.. will check out ur post now...

cheers mate.

what i was chasing was anyone who had a similar ride height but who had managed to avoid any bump stop problems.

I'm pretty convinced now that anyone who has been around that low on the bilstein/whiteline combo has had bumpstop issues, and the only way around it is a shorter shockbody or modding the struttops...or just raising it. I'm not really game to shorten my bumpstops anymore than about 30mm (using the foamie type bumpstops). and judging by some other posts of similar setups i'd have to chop at least 15mm more out of them for the springs to take care of most of the load bearing, and then i wouldn't have much suspension travel....

Can't do anything till next weekend anyway so I'll chillax till then as I don't drive it during the week, and I'll raise it 2 circlip grooves (16mm) and chop another 10mm out of the bstops... that should ive me about ~20mm suspension travel I hope (i reckon it's riding the bumpstops by about -4mm)
