I'm going to be a bit boring here, but I like the stock 18's, on my Axis. Pretty certain they are AR-X stockies, not Axis stockies though.

Ideally, I'd like to get some thicker rubber, a bit of low, and possibly some white lettering on the tyres. I think that would look kinda cool.

I ran AR-X rims on mine for a while; they look good,

They need about a 10mm spacer, and 245/45/18s.

Weds Kranze Bazreias, 19x8.5 +41F 19x9.5 +43R with a 20mm spacer all round to clear the brakes and get them out of the suspension.

245/45/19 Nittos all round and no issues with the AWD keeping everything in check.

End goal with the wheels is new lips on the 8.5 pair to bring them to 9.5 square, should push the rears to +10ish with a smaller spacer/+20ish no spacer

20x10 all round +35 3mm spacers up front 255/30/20

Not rubbing at all. Needs to be this height for the camber to pull them underish the guards.

How much camber is this running?

I have been looking for wheels for a while now but offset is the biggest concern i have.

Plan was to run 19x 9 front and 19x10 rear

245 and 265 rear with 5 sidewall difference to maintain rolling diametre within 1% from memory

I like the idea of different offsets and different widths it certainly looks good. But i remember what my old man said to me a few years ago how are you going to rotate wheels to keep wheel wear even

I never rotate wheels. My theory is that they wear faster that way and it means you have to buy 4 at a time whereas I prefer to spread the financial burden.

They will wear at exactly the same rate as they were going to wear at.

Defraying the financial burden is understandable, but also more manageable when you regularly rotate tyres, as you have plenty of advance warning.

The advantage in buying 4 at a time is you actually have some buying power, and that has saved me almost the cost of a single tyre in the past.

You don't get that level of discount when buying 2 at a time.

As for people who buy one tyre at a time; they just make me mad...

Running stock camber for the height.

Rear wheel could easily go 10.5 +42mm

Front only has 1-2mm clearance to the inner upper arm with 10" +35mm and 3mm spacer. So perfect would be:

Front 20" x10" +32

Rear 20" x 10.5" +42mm

I wanted to be able to rotate. Ozzy tyres do custom offset for free. If you get these same Directional wheels make sure you state that you want directional. Ie different left and right so they all lean the same way.

So I got these over the weekend, they are ANZ "Velvet" (yes, velvet) in 18x8.5 +35.

Two are in good nick, two with a bit of rash that will need filling.

Keeping in mind these are going on a red NM35 which will also have a set of R33 GTST front callipers I am rebuilding, here is what I am thinking:

Patch up the rash with filler, touch up with "chrome" paint and give them a polish, callipers black or colour coded red. (my least favourite idea as they will look ratty bling).

Patch the rash, matt or satin black rims, gold or red colour coded callipers. (probably my favourite, brembo gold, black rims, headlights, grill etc).

Patch the rash, gunmetal/charcoal rims, gold or red colour coded callipers.

" " " , gold rims with black or red colour coded callipers.

Only going to paint as I don't want to spend too much on these nasty rims with powdercoat or plasti-dip.

Whichever way I go I will also fill in the "Velvet" logo and ditch the "ANZ" caps.

All opinions/other ideas will be greatly..............ignored, especially if they are, "hey mate, they're rubbish, save up and buy some decent rims you cheapskate!"

    • I replaced the whole clutch line with the chase bays braided hose, I think it removes that loop, is it the short hose that comes immediately off the slave or is there a drawing in the manual to find what you’re referring to? It was just re-bled when I upgraded to the nismo slave, old slave worked fine but I thought that might help, didn’t change a thing. It’s like the first half of the pedal is pushing air and then when it finally actuates the master the friction zone is tiny. Makes it practically impossible to launch the car
    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
