Even the numerous CST road crossings they've done on Curtis Rd are shite! A heavy traffic road+shite rubble+lack of compaction, nearly hit one in the GTR that would have been close on 200mm below the road surface. Boof and Dion would know the ones im talking of.

Yerp i know the exact holes your talking about and thier a joke seriously...Can't wait for it all to end!!

just got pulled over about 2 minutes ago for dodging the pot holes on Payneham rd, copper thought i was drunk

i'm curious, what did they say? surely it's shit them more than it would us even, because they'd be spending allll day dodging the bastards, albeit with softer suspension, but they'd still feel it.

I tell you Findon Rd is getting ruff as guts. All patch work, half assed road works have made it ridiculously bumpy to drive on.

I drive it daily, tis horrible indeed :)

.. I've been using it to find the rattles in my car to fix them :D

Hi there everyone, I am new to this sight but i am currently going throu some grief with the Playford council due to potholes and the damage that has happened to my vehicle.

I have been advised thou that there is a department that deals with damage caused throu the council roads and that is as follows:

Risk & Procurement team: at the Playford city council

Will keep u guys up to date with how i go with getting them to pay for the damages... :P

they will always show you a document that absolves them from being responsible for the damages (doesn't mean its always a legal document), but if you dont back down and keep bugging them they will give in i have succeeded twice now. once with the Adelaide city council when my bonnet was hit by a golf ball while i was driving on war memorial drive, the second time was the city of Charles sturt council when i hit a pothole and damaged my front left (blew out a Tyre, buckled a rim and damaged the front bar and panel) and both times they paid up. I've also had friends and family succeed it just takes time and persistence.

good luck

good luck with that ive tried twice . you will get so far then they will show you a govt act that absolves them of any blame i even talked to a lawyer about it he reckons you have no hope and its cheaper to fix ya car yourself .

its like banging your head against a brick wall....

had the same happen to me last year.. both front wheels were buckled.

Tried the council, they told me to speak with the contractor.

Spoke with the contractor, they advised me to speak with council.

Sent both a letter of demand... all just a big waste of time!

The footpath just as i backout the driveway has an ever deteriorating pothole. everytime i back over it i think it could collapse and end me up bogged in brick.....if that does happen will coucil do the same thing? Should probs get them to fix it..

I hit a big hole on the Old Pt. Wakefield road near Virginia a few years ago in my XR8. Went to the Playford Council and the guy there said get a quote for the two rims, which i got from Ford at app. $600.00 each. I took the quote and the wheels to the guy and he authorised a check for me with which I went out and bought 4 second hand rims with tyres. That section between Virginia and Pt. weakefield road has actually been repaired, but there are plenty more rim busters around that way. The thing is they don't just bend rims, they destroy all the suspension and how can you put in a claim for waht is accelerated wear and tear. A friend also tore off her exhaust on an exposed steel water works cover in the Virginia Post Office car park and the Playford council coughed up for the repair bill. But many years later there has been no maintainance and the steel covers are way above ground level again. This car park is 4WD territory. The council has very recently done some very large patch work sections on Heaslip road near the Gawler River but they have left as many pot holes as they repaired, and when they do patch the individual holes the fill just vibrates out in a very short period, especially when it's wet. Even if you don't bend a rim you can easily knock out the wheel alignment which is another expense and time waster, which my wife and I have done on more than one occasion. Also you don't always swerve in time to miss them let alone if there is an approaching vehicle and/or the occasional pushbike in the way. I don't want to hit one of these holes with my BBS rims at 100kph. at 2k plus per rim I won't be a happy chappy.
