Hi bozodos,

Yep I have a 100% success rate with reflowing the GPU chipsets in the XBOX360s and then appying corrections to Microsoft's flawed heatsink mounting and case design. I use Hybrid Advanced kits to re-assemble the console so that no damage continues to occur once repaired. I have been designing a new reballing procedure so that I can offer that as an option also without the price being too high! I expect to start offering that before the end of July. You are welcome to email me anytime to arrange bringing the console down or posting it in (as the only repair centre in Australia who can repair this problem and back the repair up with a proper warranty we get quite a lot of postals).

Here is the general 'speil' we forward to people who enquire about our RROD repair services:

"

The "red rings of death" failure happens when the graphics chip solder balls underneath crack and break away from the board, partly due to environmental standards in Europe requiring electronics be made with lead-free solder now (which is much weaker than conventional Lead/Tin solder), Microsoft not flowing the solder properly when manufacturing the consoles to save time/money (typical) and various design flaw problems that exist with the XBOX360 case and heat sink mounting system. So due to one or many of the balls slightly cracking underneath your GPU chipset, the output video is distorted, funny colours, artefacts and eventually shuts down and "red rings of death".

This is fortunately fully repairable through us, we do not cut corners and perform "cheap" fixes that last less than a few hours/weeks (and can range from $60-150!!!). Our professional BGA rework station (only one other company in Australia uses this method!) allows us to fully reflow the solder balls underneath your graphics chipset which will restore normal graphics processing of your XBOX360, this is $70. Now after this is done you can opt to just stick with the design flawed case and heat sink mounting system although it is highly recommended to avoid the problem occurring again that you have these problems corrected, so that no more damage to the motherboard will occur, which is an extra $50. We also add in a FREE cooling modification which does not increase the noise of the console! Oh, and we also provide a 3 months written warranty or for an extra $30 an extended 1 year warranty which I can guarantee you will not find anywhere else! To top this we have a strict no fix no charge policy, if your console is not handed back to you fully working, you do not pay us a dime :-).

Turnaround time at the moment is around 2-5 days (we are quite busy as our reputation is getting around now as theplace to get RROD repaired!).

;)

Yeah the whole reballing thing was what I'd come to the end conclusion of a lot of research on, what kinda price are we talking? Just thinking whether I should get my 2006 model (still unopened) fixed as a preventative or whether I should just buy a new arcade with the newer chipset and cooling etc.

There's also the whole postage thing involved lol
