Right now on ACA. Check it out.

funny how they use the typical crazy carlo drift from a few years ago they just do it to rev the cops up so they pick on people with nice cars. i feel like slapping that woman across the head.

Calais Turbo members don't carry on like f**king idiots.

It doesn't matter what car you have, if you drive like a f**kwit you deserve to be charged and have both your car and licence taken away from you. It is this very small minority of car hoons that f**k it up for the true car enthusiast. I am sure there will be an operation or crack down in Victoria sometime soon because of this.

It looked like a black heap of shit s13.

Their was a segment on ACA or Today Tonight about hoons a while ago, and its funny because the video was of a touge battle in Japan. Media make up so much bullshit, for once they actually sourced a video of a hoon acting like a dickhead, but then again had to add on some footage that is so old e.g crazy carlo drifting (they forget to add he did it on a closed road). They just do these segments because they want no one driving performance cars, and are trying to get performance cars being linked to hoons when its only a small minority. Why not make a segment about the true car enthusiasts with a r34 gtr N1 or vspecII for example, simply because the majority of the population will not give a shit, but the majority of population does give a shit wen they see hoons drifting, hence why the media publisises that.

For those that missed it here is the link http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=1074411

I would really like to see him off OUR roads(the roads are there to share, a message from the RTA), just spoils it for the rest of us.

Amazing how the few spoil it for the rest of us, and the whole public perception.

Although they really do need to get some new footage, the Crazy Carlos is getting old. HEY ACA THAT'S ONE GUY, GUESS HOW MANY REAL ENTHUSIASTS (eg. not idiots) THERE ARE OUT HERE. COME AND ASK US.

Wasn't aimed at you nismo, I just thought La Bombas comment was a bit close, but it's not my problem, I was just saying.

id edit the post but its already been quoted

Almost guaranteed that someone from Nine will be reading this to see what response it has caused.

Again people, we want to try and set a precedent as a club and as enthusiasts by being mature. If this means turning the cheek sometimes, so be it; I know there are times this is hard to do, but as true enthusiasts, all we can try and do is educate people about the reality of our situation, which is that we love our cars and we spend the money on them with passion, and that (and I hope this is true of all members) we behave in a safe and legal manner on the roads.

You set an example with your actions... It's just unfortunate we're not given a public voice to say that.

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
