I still can't believe how many skyline owners are chasing a comfortable ride. Didn't you buy a sports car?! Plus you've got coilovers, which were designed for racing use.

Aside from all that, you are right about the adjustment for damping, righty tighty lefty loosey. Don't forget, spring rates have a fair bit to do with ride comfort also.

The problem is everyone goes "coilovers? sweet!" and don't realise that the spring rates most jap brands have are set for track work on billard table smooth race tracks in japan.

You can make coilovers work but you have to get spring rates suitable for aussie roads and shocks that are valved to suit.

Actually, in standard form my car is beautiful to drive every day, soaks up the bumps and still has quite reasonable handling when pushed. It's a grand tourer and does that job perfectly. The first couple of track days I did in it I had a ball as well, but now I'm after a more direct ride and less body roll (better for the track) without compromising daily comfort too badly.

+11ty. Read the spring rate sticky and work out what rate you have now, its probably way too stiff.
