1996 Type X 180sx. Need to sell asap, make an offer. I am in need of a family car as we have a young baby. Compression tested at 160 for all 4! Great unmolested example.

Can sell cheaper without coilovers and wheels if the buyer wishes to negotiate.

Only ever ran on stock boost, the oil gets changed every 4000km, never been flogged, only drinks BP Ultimate. I'm the second owner in Australia. The first owner imported it 1 year ago. I have a baby and we cant afford our house repayments and need to sell. The momo steering wheel has no airbag but I still have the factory steering wheel with airbag in it and the standard castor arms. Also the dash is not cracekd like you see in most 180sx's.

I have recently had the blacktop sr20 compression tested it and It came back with 160 on all 4 cylinders. This is a great example of a type x 180. It has not been boosted above stock and it is a beautiful car to drive. It is a non sunroof model so no annoying water leaks or rust in the roof. It would be the perfect daily curser or platform for somebody wanting to build a car.

mod list:

Exedy brass button clutch, about 5000km's old.

HKS intake kit,

Splitfire voltage stabiliser.

Full turbo-back exhaust: Dump+front pipe, HKS catback system,

Tein super street adjustable suspension with pillowball upper mount, about 5000km"s old

Adjustable castor rods,

Work 16" wheels, the backs are wider than the fronts. 4 Brand new tyres just fitted.

Momo race steering wheel,

Blitz boost gauge,

DVD player,

Pioneer speakers,

Keyless entry,

Genuine Type X seats front bar, side skirts & Floor mats. Also comes with the type x steering wheel. The drivers seat shows almost no signs of wear. Pics don't do it justice so come have a look for yourself. It gets at least 450km's out of every tank. You wont find better than this 180sx.

I may trade for a car of interest as i need a family car.

    • I’m hosting a bunch of execs in the McLaren box on Saturday. If you’re around I’ll come say hi, and see if I can sneak out some freebies.
    • Yes. All of this. But even when you get the NOx as low as you can go on an RB, it will no doubt still be way too high. Same with CO and HCs. The tech and the tuning time just isn't there.
    • Dang. I love the little 'oil used' bingo card on the side.   🤣  Well, now they can use a box and an oil-filled goon.
    • Many many moons ago, I was chatting with Andy Wyatt, about his auto ignition tuning. One of the HUGE things he said to me, when tuning for power, right where you hit peak ignition timing for your max torque, dramatically increases NOx emissions. He was finding in testing, particularly on engines you could advance timing beyond peak torque, that backing the ignition timing off a couple of degrees only made for a small drop in torque (compared to if you keep backing it off further the same amount of degrees) but dramatically reduced NOx emissions. I'd say targetting for 14.7, and he's even mentioned in some scenarios going slightly leaner, and pulling a few degrees of IGN timing will help pass for emissions quite a lot. However, who tunes an RB for emissions
    • The main stuff from.Vibrant I see is more their intercooler piping, and everyone raving about their clamps, but when I looked it was about $150 per clamp... I was a bit   I also thought the public price SP had up was high. As Mark said, a normal exhaust shop can fab them. It was many years ago that I had a full exhaust built, but for a full turbo back exhaust, and 2 custom built mufflers, plus a high flow cat, was about $1,100, and that was fully installed, drive in, drive out. I believe SP was about $900 for 2 mufflers, just supplied   These days, I just buy the material and built it myself, because I need to stretch my $$$
