Quick Skyline Question.

Hey all, I'm looking to buy my first skyline.

Found a nice looking 1996 r33 series 2 that was unmodded. When i went for a test drive in it i wasn't at all impressed with the performance of it. My mate has a stock 1998 wrx, (which are no more than 160kw) and his felt a lot faster. Another guy had a look at the car and he told the owner that it had low compression in cylinder 5 after taking it to a mechanic, but he said he checked it out and it was fine.

I've never been in a stock r33 and have no idea what it should feel like in a straight line.

It should feel faster than a stock wrx right?

A stock skyline is slower than a stock Rex. We put that to the test and it's true. Yes a stock skyline is slow but as soon as you do exhaust, front mount and up the boost to 12 you will be laughing

Hold on.. are you talking gts... or gts-t.. you havent mentioned turbo yet so what model are you looking at?

I'd be doing my own mechanic inspection if another guy had even mentioned that it had low compression!

Low compression = rebuild time!

stock skylines are pretty slow. when i bought mine i was changing from a manual 3.5L magna and the skyline didn't really feel any faster.

yeah no non gtr is great when stock, they need work, The GT-R feels better overall but not that great either stock
