if the front mount has had an impact causing a substatial hole will the car start??

probably not! An air leak large enough will cause the mixtures to be out enough that the engine will be too rich to fire.

Cheers man, much appreciated! yeh was a pretty decent hole, fired up just enough to reverse up a few feet not enough to get away from the lynch mob throwing rocks tho lol
