mate, im just saying what i think judging from the photos, which is what i have to go off as someone who is interstate and also interested, but not for a $24,000 rolling shell.

in terms of having a hard life, you can't possibly sit there and say that it hasn't. in the state that it is in now, its built purely as a track car, and its also been neglected in alot of areas ie - you say the paint isn't the best, the headlights are badly faded, the wing looks faded but that could just be the photo, there is alot of dirt in areas, oil residue on one of the chassis rails, a little bit of oxidization in the exposed boot, and other small things (not from being neglected) such as the bonnet being replaced and exposed holes from removing the diffusers.

not to mention the amount of work needed and money + time needed to source and buy the required parts to get this thing registered, not to even mention get it running. im not even factoring in labour costs because if i were to purchase this i would do everything myself.

paint job, 2k is either mates rates or a cheap job. end of story. for a panel beater to do a good quality proper job with all windows out, taking parts off etc that a 34r deserves, for 2 grand i guarantee you he would be losing money rather then making any.

engine - 4k minimum

gearbox - 600 - 1000

jap exhaust - 1k

interior bits - who knows

airbags - $$

decent coilovers - 1500

respray - 5k (being generous)

jap radiator and cooler - 1500

fair to say theres 40k already buying the roller at 24k. thats not including alot of little miscellaneous things, a clutch, fixing up any other problems such as bushes or brakes, all fluids, compliance costs etc etc

now im not trying to be a flamin mongrel, because if there is somebody who likes building a car up from scratch rather then just buying one, its most definitely me. but to do this PROPERLY, thats what your looking at, and my prices are quite fair and that is without any upgrades or a rebuilding an engine or box or diffs. i think my main problem with this thread is that you are making out this is a great opportunity for picking a 34r vspec up for REALLY cheap, however theres a lot of standard v-specs with pretty low km for sale in the mid 40's now-a-days, so it's not really the case.

At 32K have the whole interior and missing bits replaced from my stock GTR (With a week to two of your own hard work)

You telling me a stock trimmed 34 GTR at 32K is expensive? Good luck trying to bring one over from Japan and have it landed at this cost

Obviously this car is not for you. I can complete this car and have it on the road for under 40K - with a motor that is out of a 01 that has 65000km on the

clock. If i was in the market and did not quite have the 45K, i would definately consider this option. But on the other spectrum, there are those looking for

a car that they can track. Instead of buying a stock one for $40K and selling everything that you dont need - this would be a feasible option.

I still believe that this is a bargain!

:whistling:

Why don't you just put the car back together and have it complied etc for under 40K like you said, don't you think it would be easier to sell that way?

I just can't see people spending 24K for a track car with no running gear.

I know that you said you have running gear to put in it but then you need to pay for compliance etc wherea people can just buy a GTR ready and registered for mid 40's

Not trying to ruin your thread but I just don't think people on here have 24K laying around for a car with no engine etc..

Anyway good luck with the sale.

But unfortunately a few bitter boys with not much to do on a friday night :whistling:

if you sell this before the end of the month at the same listed price/condition i'll admit i underestimated this "deal" - or that ppl have way too much cash and dont mind spending extra :D

good luck with the sale, but i think you should just put it back together and sell it as a whole :D

    • Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.
    • Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
    • Stock O2 sensors are narrowband. They're useless once you're away from stoich. IE, useless for what you're trying to do. 10:1 will read the same as 14:1 from the stock O2 sensors. That is, they'll read rich. The same level of rich.
