Its not just the bolt holes being 14mm on stagea and 12mm on R33.

The R33 GTST calipers do not fit the series 2 Stagea. Even the stock 280mm stagea rotor is fouling on the R33 caliper. I dummy the R33 GTST caliper in place with no rotor, take the measurement, and it looks like it would require a 270mm rotor to fit. So the 297mm R33 rotor would need to be machined down to 270mm ... thus being 10mm smaller than the stock stagea rotor, so it'd be going backwards, being a downgrade not an upgrade.

The S2 stagea requires the R34 calipers with the longer legs on the calipers, and matching rotors.

R33 GTST rotors and calipers do not fit my series 2 Stagea. If any series 2 Stagea owners had it fit theirs, I'd like to see how you did it. But I'm convinced it cannot be done.

:ninja:

the mounting dimensions from r33 to r34 are exactly the same (dist from from hub to bolt holes) and the leg length is proportionally different between the two

sounds like you have z32 4 pots and r33 rotors

z32 4 pots look similar to r33 brakes (smooth) but take a 280mm rotor like 32 callipers (ribbed)

Ruby,

I fitted 32 caliper`s up no worries, retaped bolt hole`s to 14mm no bodgy Spacer

I had braided line`s so no worries with Banjo,

I toke them off as i think Stock Setup was better & now with Brake duct`s.

Next is Braided line`s ,

I know many BAG stock setup but i think there as good as 4 POT`S,

Cheer`s Chuckie.

post-36964-1278393406_thumb.jpg

stock setup is NOWHERE near as good as the 4pot's from skylines.

proven on street and the track

massive improvement in braking force.

have to disagree with you on this one Chuckie

in the meantime, Im fitting this atm:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Big-Brake-K...sQ5fAccessories

fits to a Series 1.

however to make fit you must have the bracket bolts loose, setup caliper/rotor, bolt calipers up, then tighten the bracket adapter bolts

otherwise the bottom bracket bolt head fouls on a little "hump" and it wont do up.

then found out the calipers are wider than the skyline series, and my 17x9.5" +23 rims no longer fit. my 17x7.5" +32 rims only fit with 5mm spacers

anyway, will redo the bolts on the LHS front tomorrow with locktight, then hitup the rhs front.

thing is, just doing wheelnuts f**ks my no-knees hardcore.

such a joke having no knees :P

(almost killed myself last wednesday, sad but true, phone call stopped me, made me think, now to seek *more help for depression)

series 2 needs r34 brakes . series 1 needs r33 brakes .

due to mounting bolt sizes

I'm getting conflicting information all over the place. I just want a straight answer and it appears I've found out for myself ... R33 GTST calipers do not fit a series 2 Stagea.

The R33 GTST calipers and R33 GTST rotors do not fit.

So ... anyone with a series 2 Stagea, do not buy the R33 GTST front brakes. If you believe they will fit, then buy mine.

yeah i fitted R33 calipers and rotors front and rear.. the only thing i needed to get was a steel piece of tube for the mounting bolts.. 12mm vs 14mm.. other than that it went straight on fine.

Sorry. I can't believe that. The R33 GTST brakes certainly do not fit my Stagea.

The issue seems to be whether have R33 GTS-t calipers.

There is something screwy going on, since others have fitted them then it seems most likely that the ones you have are different.

It will be worth getting to the bottom of it. Have you got the set of R34 calipers yet to side by side them?

^^^ x2

i dont think they are actual r33 callipers

r32 280mm callipers are ribbed, but the 280mm ones of the 300zx were not and look very similar to r33 brakes

show us some pics!!!

if they look like they would take a 270mm rotor then they could well be

where did you get them from?

That might be the case. I decided not to bother with getting to the bottom of the R33 caliper/rotor issue and I'm just buying the R34 calipers and rotors and being done with it. Contacted the seller of the (R33?) calipers and asked if they are indeed 33 calipers. If not I'll chuck em.

:D

what do you mean to don't believe that!!! pull your head in

there are what 5 different versions of the 4pot calipers.. R32, R33, Z32, R34 and does the S14 or S15 have them aswell?

attached are pics of my setup and they went on as easy as i said b4...

from what i can understand:

the calipers you bought don't fit with the disc you bought together and it doesn't make sense.

good luck to you and i hope it is not the R33 non-turbo one,

no one tried to put the non-turbo one on stagea and obviously it is down grading to do that.

non turbo brakes look like stock stagea ones anyway, totally different.

all i used was std R33 gts-t calipers plus brand new std slotted R33 gts-t rotors.. with that spacer for the bolts and the banjo fitting trick you can do it very easily

stock setup is NOWHERE near as good as the 4pot's from skylines.

Well as i have tryed both i LIKE STOCK ok I feel it`s as good ok,

your thinking about STOCK S1 Brake`s & there rubbish S2 are far better then S1 setup which i thing your`s is  ,

Now i read all the TALK about SPACER ,i will ask you all one thing,Skyline is 1400 kg`s Max

Stagea 1600 kg`s ,you run 12 mm BOLT ,

I hope that you never have anything happen & have your car`s checked ,

As i could not think that i would trust a 12mm bolt when it should be 14mm.

Now before you all SHOOT OFF WHY DID NISSAN change to 14mm  ,

Sorry. I can't believe that. The R33 GTST brakes certainly do not fit my Stagea.

Everything I've read, seen etc says that r32 GTR r33gtst and 34 GTT calipers are all the same with the exception of the thread size.

Did you have them the right way around, ie. right caliper on the right hand (drivers) side? They are marked on the caliper but another way to tell is they should have the bleed nipple at the top.

There is something funny going on if they don't fit. Might pay to double check your part numbers.

it is 4 with pictures against 1 .

i suggest you get your rotors and calipers id'd by posting some photos as you have been asked to do more than once

Its not a pissing contest ... and I work early and finish late, so will try to get pics when and where I can. Besides its 4 pics against a proven 'tired and failed' fitment.

I can't be bothered pulling everything off again, until I'm going to fit the R34 GTT stuff ... so when the calipers arrive, I'll take the time to dummy the R33 stuff in place again and take pics to prove they do not fit.

what do you mean to don't believe that!!! pull your head in

Means, I don't believe it. I'm reading conflicting opinions. The only way to find out for sure was to fit the kit myself, which isn't fitting ... so what do you think my conclusion will be? Granted, perhaps the calipers are Z32 ... I'll find out what I can.

In the meantime, I don't care much for proving or disproving this anymore ... I have R34 stuff coming and that'll go on.

I'll take pics when I can of the R33 problems, and then the R34 stuff going on for future reference.

Problem is that most sutff I've read says the R33 GTST and R34 GTT calipers are worlds apart. The R34 GTT calipers have longer legs, as well as being 14mm in bolt size.

You know what? When I get my R34 stuff, I might ask around to borrow R32 GTR, R33 GTST and R34 GTT calipers and rotors to document the fitment, so there is less conflicting information.
