just a suggestion - circuit racing

I don't know but I kinda like the idea of circuit racing. who knows, maybe I'm Michael Schumaccher in the making hehe :lol:

Does anyone know of any events that I can enter with my Skyline?

Or what if, we plan a circuit day out or something??

You can go out to mallala for the day, costs about $50 and there are ather people on the track. You cant race your car, a propperly set up race car in not a good street car. If you want to race, get a go-kart and come play with me, after about 2 years you may be a decent race driver.

Yeah I should have thought of that instead. I tried it once with a couple of mates, it was really fun. How much does these things cost, by the way?

Hire karts are crap, its like driving an excel, when what I race is like a 500hp gtr. A good second hand rotax is $3500, i have one for sale at the moment. Then you need helmet, suit tools etc about another $1500. You can get cheap karts for $1500 but you wouldnt want to race them.

Then there`s on going costs with go carts like tyres,rebuilds etc etc.I spose its cheaper than Buggy racing(that really hurts the wallet).

You can get spend a small amount and just do local meets quite cheap, but if you go to the top levels you need to spend big money to be competitive. I know of people that spend 50k a year to compete in the highest level here. In the last couple of months I have been to Ipswitch(QLD) and Coffs Harbour(NSW) being a mechanic for a good mate, you need to travell to get the good race meetings.
