hey guys just last night i was at a friends place who lives up north and as i left i realised someone had tried to break into my car ~_~;; the entire section behind the driver side window was pretty much ripped out and had marks all over it from repeatly jamming something into it. Recently i have seen on these forums toooo many people having their cars stolen/torched i guess i am a lucky one since i still have my car with minor dmg. anyone have any good solutions that can reduce this bs.... i mean stuff steering locks? other things that may help? or possible a good alarm system?

thanks

I know I sound like a broken record, but anyone who owns a Skyline and doesn't have an alarm deserves to have it stolen and just causes all our premiums to be sky-high.

MINIMUM should be a decent pager alarm (so you get notification from up to 1km if anyone even goes near your car), with 3/4 immobilisation points, a kill switch (I have 2), AND a Club Lock. I believe the Club Lock is the MOST important, as more often than not thieves will see it and think "too hard" and move on to the next car.

You mean to say that you never considered an alarm before to deter theives?

Keep a f**king big dog in the front seat

I can also be employed to sit in the front seat, with my masculine frame and bulging biceps, i assure you theives wont be a problem.

+1 to alarm

2 or 3 point alarm - you are mad if you have any sports car without one, and your insurance might drop for it as well.

Plus get a huge snake to sit on the parcel shelf, it will keep it warm and it can eat rogue flies...

the other day my alarm went off the car is in a lock up carport with a door too the house i went screaming out only to find my dog was locked in the carport somehow and his barking had set the alarm off didnt think it was quite that sensitive . but he as a loud bark and i guess it echoed in the carport .

mind you if it had been a thief and the dog was there i would pity them our german shepard has a thing about people he doesn't know :-)

Im with Crawler, If you drive a skyline a good alarm is a must. Black wire, battery backup, 3pt immobilisation, shock sensors NOT JUST glass break, pager... ect ect...

and if you MUST have a timer get it built into ur alarm module don't have a standard pen gredyy or apexi one. Its giving the theives everything they need in coloured wires nice and easy to get to.

Sounds exactly like what happened to my old 32 in the Northern suburbs (TTG/Mobury area)

Except they caused nearly 5k damage trying to get in.

a good alarm would of gone off with them tampering with your car

used in conjunction with a brightly coloured club lock in your hand to beat them with it

I like your thinking Steve!
