Your whole setup is win ^

The dash gauges, the turbo timer/boost controller/other deely, the a/f gauge. I love it man ;) The only thing that is annoying me slightly... Your shift nob is crooked

How did you fit the a/f gauge in there, did you cut the surround?

Actually when I got my car it did not have the ashtray, it was missing so my plan was to get some fibreglass and mask the entire front area and then trim the area to fit the AEM gauge and then filler it a little and rub it down and prime and paint. It came out alright I guess but now I have the entire V-Spec GTR setup with the ashtray so I removed it all. As for the gauges I am removing them to replace with a GTR V-Spec MFD setup some time this year. These gauges will go in my S14.5 setup. I also have the twin defi setup on the pillar as well.

I have since removed the LEDs from the A/C as it was a bit to much green as you can see :whistling:.

sorry didn't see the question before .. it's out of a 34 GTR dash cluster (vspec I think). I bought the whole cluster removed the silver panel and stuck it onto mine :( Tacky I know .. was going for a slightly diff look. Might just repaint it charcoal as well as the centre console bits that are tungsten right now.

Wow man, looks like a rocket ship!

I remember someone installing their boost controller unit in the little compartment near the consult port, so I tried it and ended up butchering the whole thing and in the end it didn't fit :) I think I will try and track down a din pocket and do it your way.

that looks shocking ..sorry.

52mm ones fit perfectly inside the factory holder ..after lots of tinkering and trying to come up with a way to hold them in place I finally figured out that blu tack was the easiest solution (no movememnt and they're held solidly in place without any brackets)

for your speedo blue globes what model lights did you use and or where did you get them from ?

Gauges are easy to change.. The 3 original ones are all connected together (pic in post #22) you just need to unplug it.. New gauges will be individual, You will need some way to make them sit in the way you want.. Silicon seems to be the chioce of weapon. I made some plastic spacers that pushed in behind the housing but i'm a fitter and turner so I had access to that..

Then run the approriate wires to where they are needed and done.. Can't use the original plug unless you wanted to find which wires go to where.. Still will need to run some new lines though (depending on what gauges you put in..

is the climate control screen and all buttons supposed to light up? if so... how do i change bulbs?

Yes, the screen, buttons and the bit behind the control knob on the climate control are supposed to light up.

If it doesn't then your bulbs are probably blown or missing. You should be able to get replacement bulbs from an auto-elec or get some LED replacements from DAN666 on these forums.

Follow the instructions on these forums in the Tutorials section on how to change a headunit - they're identical for pulling the climate control unit out as its all on the same cradle.

...you put guages

...into a guage holder

...that comes standard in your car

...and you call it custom?

Why yes, yes I do.

Oh look, it comes under definition three.

Definition: 1. made to order: made or built to order

2. making goods to order: making, building, or selling goods to order

a custom tailor

3. changed to suit better: altered in order to fit somebody's requirements better

Probably didn't need the PM OKBANANA, I just don't really see changing gauges in a hole made for a gauge to be 'custom'.

Especially after I did this myself...

    • I'm hoping I just don't have to do an engine rebuild NOW. Doesn't mean I won't do it at some point. I think a plus point is that the car presumably ran on or close to stock power nearly all it's life so far. Only the Owner I bought it from actually increased power with a standalone ECU and blew the OEM turbos. And after it got thee 2860s it wasn't driven an awful lot either.   That is what I meant. With the twins coming on so late (4500-5000rpm) I hope the rods won't want to exit the block prematurely. And it still being a 26 means the torque curve isn't gonna hike up all that much.   It didn't blow up on the dyno when they tuned it to 500ish crank. So I suppose it'll be okay for now. They did put a Tomei head gasket on first though which did not seal at all, and they redid it with a Cometic one. Which I hope won't be my water leak.   Mainly anything oil. So far all it has is the N1 pump, oil restrictor and a filter relocation kit with a cooler.
    • 15000? ish? Something like that anyway. It wasn;t so much a wear as a tear that then spread. Might have lasted a lot longer if not bothered by just one incident, whatever it was. I took a punt. They are really comfortable and do a good job of holding. My daughter HATED it when I first put them in, and probably still does now. She has sensory issues and hates the way they are all up your business. I'm 197cm and 95kg. Not fat or particularly wide, and the XL size seat is the rigth fit. If I was any fatter it would start to get too snug. Any skinnier and you'd possibly want the smaller width.
    • Mrs rs focus came factory with recaro cs  sportsters in it and they a pain in the ass to get in and out of with the really high bolsters, once you were in them they were one of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in
    • The NA 2.5 has very little torque. You won't feel much. Those trannies are also a million years old now and it could well be f**ked. First generation electronically controlled autos will often refuse to kick down, ete, etc, depending on what's wrong with them.
    • Yes, but no but yes but no. Those "it's fine up to 500HP" rules and everything else like it were all determined back when the cars were 10 years old. As they are now 30 years old.....what do you reckon the chances of something shitting the bed are? I'd say they are much higher now than they used to be. You might be lucky. You might be unlucky. Spin the wheel and find out. Yeah, nah. It's actually exactly the opposite. Making boost early and having heaps of torque able to be generated right in the middle of the rev range will do more to damage an engine than having to rev it high to make the power. Think about the load on the conrods, bearings, etc, to make 400HP at 4000 rpm, vs 400 HP at 6500 rpm. So someone has already "let the Nissan out" which is how we describe the increased chance of a fiddled with engine to have had something done wrongly. Many more engines that have been opened die than stock ones do - even if you into consideration how they are treated wrt power levels and the like. Again, not saying that yours will definitely have been put back together by a moron. But the possibility does exist. It's still a lottery. Spin the wheel. What weakspots?
