33 Gtr Thermostat

Hey guys

trying to work out why no water was flowing out of the bleed nut on the head when i got the car to 77 degrees. everyone seems to have a different temp of where the std thermostat should open.......what's the answer??

how hard is it to change the thermostat on a 33?

I don't think the stock thermostat opens till 76.5c, try getting to 80c and jacking the front up as high as you can, can also help things along with a improvised coke bottle + tape to bleed air from the radiator cap

I dont think you want it jacked up if you want bubbles to come out the bleed valve. Im pretty sure you want the car level for it to work properly.

i've given up trying to get it to bubble.....got it to 82 degrees and still no joy.

i took it for a drive to get it up to temp with the bleed valve out....it sucked in a good litre or so out of the overflow.

what's the downside if it hasn't bleed properly?

air in your water system = cracked head = engine out

try use one of them coolant flushes maybe?

anyone know the the capacity of the coolant system in these things? i've heard 7 - 8 litres

not once in my life have i screwed around with the bleed nuts, just bled your system, buy some coolent for 12 bucks and bobs ur aunty
