I just got my R33 and i'm not sure if it's my tune only or my cat is gutted out as well. I'm going to find out eventually when I get some time but my simple quick question was:

IF in the scenario I find that my cat is gutted and I replace it. Will that make my exhaust much quieter? I ask because I currently have an exhaust noise infringement and that could be an easy kind of two birds with one stone fix.

So far I've been defected 3 times for exhaust hanging too low. Its lowest at the flange from front pipes to decat. Straight 3" stainless decat.. Not once has a cop said anything about it lol..

I went through regency multiple times with a gutted cat, not once did they check it.

There's no real way they can check it apart from taking it out of the system, and that's really suprise me if they did. But then again I'm in Vic so not really sure how tough they are.

Car was above legally loud with a 3" system with a single stuffed muffler and soot on the back.

They seemed far far more interested in my child seat anchors not being completely visible, 3rd brake light, and hole in my seat though???

When I got defected at bondi beach mid year the EPA were there, the inspector looked under my car (specifically at the cat converter) and didn't say a thing, I'm running a 3.5" straight pipe/decat with my compliance shell over it lol
