Guard Flew Off

hey guys the other day i was cruising down a backroad when one of my guards flew off, its the one that sits infront of the left front wheel. I turned around and picked it back up just wanna know how urgently i should put it back on.

what guard? u mean like the plastic lining in your wheel arch or the actual left front guard?

just the plastic lining on the front part of the wheel

i damaged mine when i was 19 when my skyline ended up in a shallow creek beside a pedestrian only cycling lane at 1am after driving round with my lights off haha, not one of my finer moments. i removed the plastic lining completely and its been like that ever since, makes no difference really. if it happened to the driver's side one then i'd replace it because it protects a bunch of wires that run through the top of the wheel arch.

but on the left side i wouldnt worry about it. replace it only if you feel like being pedantic.

Ha ha,mine flew off on the highway an i ran it over,so i pulled the other one off as well.This happened 7 years ago,no probs without them.

Neither of my Skylines have had them, I took them off the first one when I changed the front bumper because I couldnt be bothered putting them back in, and my current one had none. Took the others out cos it rubbed too much.

Basically, they dont do much. Not important at all

they dont even need to be removed to take the bumper off. or at least not on r32s, i assume r33 would be the same. i was going to remove the drivers side one as well but there is a wiring loom that becomes exposed to the elements without it. to my mind it would only take a few stones on a gravel road or something to flick around the wheel arch and damage the loom, so i left that guard in to play it safe.

When I bought my 32 the previous own had it dumped on its' nuts, I was driving down the highway the next day, hit a bump (join in the road surface on a bridge) and wham! it dislodged and disappeared under the car to be run over by the car behind. Few days later the other one let go

yeh i took mine out as well car is too low, but you gotta ziptie your wires an shit out hte way or you'll fk it up i neally stuffed my wiring got to it just in time

ive got mine still in, i keep them in otherwise dirt and crap will fling onto the front bar (i have brake vents, example, gtr front bar, 400r front bar) when its raining you will see alot of gunk on the front bar where the wheel has flicked dirt everywhere.
