Hi all

i have noticed that my throttle cable has an unusual amount of slack - car is an r33 rb25det. I can easily pull the cable up with my finger a good 5m before the throttle changes at all - is this normal ? or is my cable stretched and need replacing

5 metres!!!!! WTF!!!! I think you mean MILLImetres (or maybe CENTImetres).

Thats what the adjusting fitting is for - to take up any slack due to cable stretch.

haha sorry yes mm ... maybe 1cm

adjusting fitting???

i took this screenshot from nissan fast, the part i've pointed to is where your throttle cable connects to, i'm pretty sure thats where you can adjust it to take up the slack.

looks fine to me. check slack along the length of the cable not at 90 degrees to it.

if you want to adjust it there's 2 bolts usually near the throttle body. you want to set it so it has a tiny bit of slack. it makes it easier to drive smooth as the gas pedal wont be as touchy.
