So i was driving on freeway back to S.E suburbs from Mitchem at around 2.00am on Saturday night.

I was a couple km's from my exit at Warrigal as a shiny new looking commodore speeds up next to me, while doing consistent 100km he starts revving the crap out of his engine, then slow down, goes behind me and flashes high beams and tail gates me. So i speed up to get away from the lunatic but he follows, i change into the far left lane and he keeps pushing up my ass. I get to about 1XXkm and i see the exit + a speed camera stationed at it.

The commodore casually drives off and i noticed a one too many antennas at the back of it.

Not sure whether they got me or not, but was that them setting me up? Anyone can clarify this? It's been bothering the hell out of me...

Fair enough. I have always managed to never find myself in situations with police or actual hoons who want to cause a bit of trouble, so this is a bit strange to me. The timing of things was just amazing though, if it was just some idiot at a random time then hopefully he got done and not me =\

he probably wanted to race you on public roads. Im sure if he knew he was about to give you nightmares, he would have left you alone. MAN UP!

to people saying this doens't happen.... wake up...

not too long ago i had a brand new VE SS sitting next to me @ the lights on napean hwy, bout 2am... he was revving the shit out of it trying to get me to go

aparently he didn't think i'd notice his "hidden" lights and UNIFORM ffs

yeah its true police will drive around with p plates up and attempt to trap you

funny how entrapment isnt illegal for the roads.. especially when cars can be considered as 'weapons'

you dont see them get in shit for trying to race you.. two sets of rules for us and the police.

also i believe the entrapment law in australia was changed not so long ago.. free country? you decide.

if this was a survey

i would mark "strongly agree"

lol. next time just hazards on and slow down, pull over, and say that you had to make a phone call to the police to report a hoon.

Dont ever just slam on the brakes, slow down to 10-20kms under the limit gradually, yes, but dont stomp on the brakes. Not worth risking a spinal injury.

Glad to see some good replies on this. Bit of mixed ideas but that is seriously shit if undercovers can do this and are allowed to get away with it.

Question, do the cameras in cop cars flash twice like the ones at lights?

That's provided you end up with one, its a % based risk :rofl2:

I'd do it, screw em. I've seen it happen before a few times so it doesnt surprise me at all that it occurs.

To top it off I'd then take em to court afterwards. Be a nice little payout for an officer who was illegally tailgating given they are meant to be upholding the law :D

its stupidity at its finest that they can do this.

they will bait someone into death sooner or later - yet it will still be speed/alcohol or something else to blame it on

also the officer should be charged for murder in my opinion when this does happen.. and it will.
