Rb20 With Rb26 Intake *aac Valve Setup Help Needed*

Recommended Posts

hi

im in the process of fabricating an rb26 intake manifold to work on my rb20

in not using the 6 throttle setup, im welding the Rb26 manifold to the rb20 cut runners

and using single throttle up front.

My only problem is that i need to know how to set up the AAC valve?

any info will be very good thanks

My fabricator knocked up a flange to suit the AAC valve and welded it to the underside of the plenum then drilled a suitably sized hole in the middle. Just make sure it's oriented towards the throttle body as you will have to plumb a pipe from pre-t/b.

ok explain the last part for me please?

Well the AAC controls idle by bypassing the throttle body, so the pipe that goes from cooler to throttlebody needs a small pipe welded to it just BEFORE the throttlebody, then connect this with a hose to the AAC. If you don't have the AAC pointing to the front it will be a bitch to plumb it up :(

this looks like a fine idea! ive been thinking about wether to use the itb's or not, i think going this way will be far easier. could you guys post up some pics when your done? and any other tips?

cheers, Rowdy.

ive done a similar thing, but using all rb26 stuff (bar I.T.B's). im guessing the end i have outlined will now have to plumb in before the single throttle body.

seeing as it use to be on plenum side of the individual tb's and the other end connects to the vacuum chamber>vacuum bar on the head side of the old throttle bodies.

sorry this might be a little obvious, but the AAC valve attatches to that piece with the 4 studs coming out correct?

What is that piece if so?
