How many of you rely on the skyline to 'complete the deal' when you meet a new girl?

When talking her do you

A) Look forward to her asking what kind of car you drive, or try and prompt her to by asking what she drives

B) Secretly get excited when she asks for a lift home, knowing you get to show off your wheels which should give you that much more of a chance to be driving her to YOUR place

C) Cruise around the streets with your arm out the window relying on your BOV to get girls staring

If you answered 'YES' to any of these, you are guilty as charged. Please be honest when answering the poll.

i let my mum do all the spicy chat for me
Same here ! and being a driving instructor she has plenty of access to the 17-20yo women

It's worked too ! But now both my mum has moved down the coast and this other chick is moving away in afew months so im sh1t outta luck now.

Of all the cars i have owned, everyones favourite is my old Valiant, 2nd to that a brown Sigma (GO the Chryslers  )

To Jane Doe Skylines are just a FWD Nissan with lary wheels and bodykits, being no different to a WRExcel

In the eyes of my female friends my Val was cool....the Skyline is vain  , so if i cared what they thought i wouldnt be driving my self indulgent car :D

I rely on my line to beep at skanks on the side of the road, that's about it

Honestly I'd be concerned if a chick was attracted to me because of the car. There's no way anything serious can develop out of a relationship if they like you for your car.

However, I would have no problem with my car getting me laid... :bahaha:

one of the guys on here had a forsale sign on the side of his, with a mobile number.  kept getting calls from chicks when he was cruising..........that's gotta say something bout how effective it is........

 I get calls all the time now I only answer numbers I know ! But really anyone who needs a skyline to pickup is pretty sad.. although, im a bit annoyed that i havent been able to hook anything up out of mine yet.. prolly cos its such a dirty bitch.

As great as they are, Skylines are nothing to brag about really.

It's just a Nissan, and that's what I usually say when asked:

Her: "What car do you drive?"

Me: "It's just a Nissan..."

But then my friends usually chime in at that stage and go on and on about "Ohhh... Not just AAAAAAAAANY Nissan...

Me: ""

be concerned then. i had 3 chicks practically following me around at a party last weekend. after they overheard me talking to a mate about my car they approached me "do YOU have a SKYLINE?" then there's the sms one of them sent me "I'd do anything for a boyfriend with a sexy car like yours". its pathetic. good for a **** but not really. when i first got car i liked the attention but i hate it now.

lol mannnn my friend picked up this chick from a club once and like he got onto the chick etc. you know, just for some fun in the club and thats about it. Then the chick says to him: "If you had a car, then i'm yours tonite"

He was likE WTf? you f*cken skank, get da f*ck away from me.. -_-;

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
