I am very much in the same boat as merli... in my area Lines arent too common, the chicks seem to like a change from the commodores etc.

My mates usually do most of the talking about my car for me. I just play it down.

But then again my current love interest is a ricer like me and she has a louder stereo and exhaust too... :)

Which is good i feel that it is more based on the people we are not the cars we drive.

If i did have a skyline i'd be like, "alright pet? fancy a ride? you'll get a shag on the back seat too if you're lucky"....

...just kidding, it would be funny though!

hahahahahaaa Novacastrians are cool. No matter what country they are from :)

imo, women typically cannot differentiate one car from another. they are not good with names of cars, specifics of any kind. they don't care about stats, race history, year model, trim package, engine choice, all of that stuff we have created an entire forum about. females typically respond more to HOW the man drives the car, how the car sounds, how it smells, what color it is, the texture of the seats, how it feels. of course, having a sports car helps because it can allow the driver to be sexier. a rusted out ford sedan will not cut it. i think a typical female response to the skyline would be that it looks like a honda or toyota or something other than what it is. if you said "oh. this is a skyline," the woman would not be able to remember that name the following day. were she interested in the man, she would remember his voice tone, how his hands looked, how he smelled, the way he walked to the car, the way he shifted the gears, etc. the car would just be a "vehicle" for the more meaty issues that charm the female.

conversely, some men equate or regard the skyline as higher and more interesting than the female, ie, it replaces or is the female. at least easier to manage. the ideal world would be having both the skyline and the female in harmony.

Jesus...that post scares me :uhh:

What books do you read in your spare time, or do you have a lot of sisters :)

I'm gonna be honest and say that I'm buying a skyline for four reasons, it's quality, price, performance and looks. If my car attracts women, so be it. I work hard, wear decent clothes and do my best to look my best, the car will just compliment that. Skylines get looks, (Commowhores get smoked, then ignored ;)) but most girls aren't that dumb to be with a guy with a cool car if he's got a face like a spanked ass and teeth like a group one winner and thinks deodorant is an optional hygene tool. If so, god damn, he must be hung like a group one winner too!

my two cents

hahaha your all liars

maybe the 25yo+ skyline owners done get girls/ or atleast use the skyline a little to get them

but being 18 and driving a skyline, i get girls asking if they can get in when i stop at lights and have a few extra numbers on my phone cos of the line ;)

I know they are there for the line, but i dont care, females will be females they use us all in some way

I picked up my gf with my R31 wagon but now i have an R32 and my gf hates it.

"Its too bumpy"

"Its too noisy"

"The airconditioning doesnt work"

"I dont like the whooosh sound"

"It only has a tape player"

"You always drive with the windows down"

But i still love her. Just

woman does better in our car than i do

shes always getting guys trying to race her and wanting her number when shes out in the car

guys dont believe her either when she tells them she drives a skyline

she knows what shes on about though (she knows model series etc)

i wish i did as well as she did ;)

Woah, there are so many of you that are turning girls down because they are interested in your car.

At the end of the day, you don't need to have a relationship with them! If they are fit, attractive and the right age for you then get a shag out of them - just remember to wear a johnny!

Seriously, i've just come out of a year long relationship and half of that time my GF was travelling. When i was working in the US last summer i could have had so much fun, but i stayed faithful to my GF. What did that get me? A very boring relationship with a girl that was too different from me.

I don't want another relationship until i'm about 25, or until i meet a girl that really turns my head. Until then i just want to have fun.

Be young while you're still young.

when your early at a party eveyone that walks in after you wants to know who owns the skyline the 200sx, the Rex etc...thats parked on the street! it has to count for something when your 17- 25 with a hot car.. they think...mmmm....hard worker...good job...drug dealer...lol hahaah

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
