hey guys,

yesterday i took my intercooler pipe apart (where it goes accross the motor in front of the radiator (Rb25 R33 with a Greddy Intercooler)

Now i didn't see how it was originally connected as the rubber clamp was covering the connection but when i tried to put them back together i could not for the life of me get them to interlock (the pipe to go inside the other pipe) it doesn't really seem like they could anyway?

So now they are basically together maybe a cm gap between them with the rubber clamp pushed back over holding them together - car still drives fine but is it normal for them to be like this???

Appreciate advice..

Steve

If you have a rubber/silicon sleeve over the join with a hose clamp on either side then that is all that you need. I've never ever seen them clamp or click together.

yes thats exactly what i have, although it seems there is like a 1 cm gap between the pipes which i thought was concerning...

the gap allows movement as Adriano said, you have an intercooler on the chassis and a turbo or intake pipe on the motor = vibration and movement would be different for each component so the hose flex's and allows for it.
