OK. SO. Soon I will be getting into the basic mods, funds are almost good to go.

Current mods in signature. Internally stock RB25 (until it develops any problems, then woah time for a srz build)

What I'm looking at:

Nismo injectors (can't decide between 555 and 740, reason below)

Bosch 044 (will be purchasing today)

ViPEC V66

GT3076r (don't know how to decide on specs, and tossing up IW/EW as per below)

My short term goal while the car is still a daily and doesn't see any track work, is roughly 270rwkw with remotely decent response. the IW .82 rear looks very laggy for street use...but I don't know what's involved regarding dump pipe etc for an external gate setup...

I know I WILL want 300rwkw+ in the future, so I don't want to drop the rear housing size in case this will restrict me....more or less, my questions are as follows:

What size injectors? If I ever bother with more than 320rwkw, I will have the funding to replace them if needed...I'm fairly sure the 555's will suffice.

What specs should I get for the turbo? I would rather not have to replace it in the long run, but certainly don't want to deal with a ph@ laggy slug in the meantime.

Above question also comes down to....internal or external? If external, I will be running a screamer (of course not gating it all over the place, I'm not stupid), so will I need to replace my dump pipe?

Thanks for the input guys

this will depend on whether you want street or highway response, but for a middle of the road, a 0.63 or 0.82 are your best bet on a 3076

555's yes

I'd go a 3076 external gate if you are looking 300rwkw for the future, a 3076 will give you the head room to work with and an external gate will give you the dependability. An internal gate works, but do a search on it and you will see heaps of people talking about gate creep and ways to beat it, you won't see this on an external gate

as above, and yes you will need a whole new dump and wastegate pipe, it is unlikely that any of that size will bolt up to your existing system

The turbo's I'd be looking at are the HKS 2835ProS, HKS 3037 or the Garrett GT3076WG, and the Garrett is the only one that has an external gate [used to be able to get the HKS2835Pro but I'm not sure if it is still available].

As for size, the 0.63 is better for street, and the 0.82 is better for highway, and it will depend on your needs.

Alternatively you could go with something not so mainstream [and then have to R+D it yourself] such as the AVO or Turbonetics range, but I'm not so sure there are any advantages.

internal will do the job and be cheaper, external is better but expect it to be more ~1500-2000 more expensive, as you need a few modifications for it to work.

Injectors, i would go for the 740cc nismos, they are only marginally more than the 555 and will be enough even if you go a GT35.

Keep to the 0.82 housing, its not a lag monster should start boosting around 2500-3000rpm.

so by going down the lines of 740s (as they're around $5-10 more expensive per unit than 555s) and 3076R IW with a .82 rear: I won't need to replace my dump pipe, I should see 18psi by 3500 in 4th, and a happy 270rwkw?

you will still need to have the dump modified with an IW, the bolt patterns are completely different. though any decent exhaust shop can do that for you.

when you get the turbo, make sure you ask for the LARGE CAN ACTUATOR instead of the standard small one.

that kit doesnt use a genuine garrett rear housing, they also crop the wheel down to make it fit resulting in a turbo that doesnt perform as well and has lots of boost control issues.

stick to the geniune garrett options, they perform the best and give the best results.

GT3076R internal wastegate with actuator (various sizes available)

Only $2065

or you can try GCG

http://www.gcg.com.au/index.php?page=shop....t&Itemid=53

they are marginally cheaper (remember to ask for the large can actuator)

as for lines, talk to pirtek or enzed they can make up some lines to fit, assuming its going on the stock manifold, you will need a spacer plate and some longer studs, but the workshop that is fitting it all up can sort these things out (i assume you are taking it to a workshop)

I've used a gt3076 kit on my car with the genuine Garret housing. Got the .82 rear housing and hits 18 psi by 3800rpm. If you want more response from it it's recommended to get a a/m exhaust manifold and to also make your exhaust more free flowing (removing cat). I'm making 281rwkw with standard exhaust manifold.

Also 555cc are enough. I'm running 740cc and when I fang it the max injector duty I hit is around 52%

More than likely (read: 100%) ESP TiTAN, seeing as I'm going with a ViPEC. They should be able to sort that out then, if I provide them with what I gather myself, they could source the rest yeah?

oh also Kris, internal or external? I'm pretty sure I read in the results thread you were running external...I'll get a quote for both setups, but I'll be sticking with the stock manifold until rebuild...at which stage god knows where I'll stop.

Also either gonna look into a highflow cat, or go looking through my garage for a thick steel rod.

yea, they could hook you up with the fiddly bits and pieces.

Also my reasonable behind the internal gate is that I wanted my car to look stock under the bonnet. If you pop my bonnet all you will see is an intercooler. Not even a pod in sight. If your not concerned with getting defected that external is the way to go
