Check Valve

Gday all just recently bought myself an 044 for my external fuel system that runs a gtr lift pump.

Now i was told by the bloke at outlaw speed shop that using the check valve that comes standard on the 044 is not necessary and that most people just run a different fitting.

I woulda thought that because it comes from factory like that its more than likely a neccesity.

Can anyone shed some light on this as i have had a quick search but couldn't really come up with a deffinate answer.

Dont have to run it, it just stop the fuel pump having to prime itself if you turn the car on and off alot.

Yeah what i understood if you took it off you just have to let it prime for a lil longer.

yep....it just keeps pressure in the fuel line when the car is off. just need to crank for a second or 2 longer without it.

on the other hand....why not use it?

Without a check valve and just the 044, the ecu's time out will beat you so you'd have to do a few key on/offs to prime.

But as you're using the stock pump as a lift pump and the 044 externally, you won't need the check valve.

not an issue in my experience...i have a 44 internal with no check valve. just takes 2 seconds to start instead of .5s
