Hey Guys,

I have been a member of SAU for quite a while and had many imports. All on the S chassis and one Cima. Now I have just purchased this which so far has been by far the best buy.

It cost me $3000 and i organised a legitamate road worthy which it passed first time with no defects. So all up and into my name it has cost me approx $3300.

I bought the car and it had:

Advantek 18" rims

brand new yokohama tyres all round

HKS 3" exhaust

Drift Pod filter.

within about a week i have already purchase a set of JIC coilovers, and removed the HKS exhaust and made my own new rear section as the HKS one was very quiet and I really wanted to bring out that RB note, Also the HKS rear box was very heavy and as i want this to be a track car predominantly this was the main reason.

So here a picture of the exhaust i made. Which was actually made out of 3 S15 3" front pipes which i cut, welded, cleaned and painted.

I've also removed the HICAS which I will post up photo's later.

So far this is all i have done but this weekend i will be removing the front end and removing all the A/C and I will also start to remove all sound dedening etc.

The main focus of this car will be drift and track days.

I will soon be installing a Diff which is a little bit different to most. As i work for ARB i will be installing an Air-locker in the rear. as this will be excellent for drift whilst also making it daily driveable. I also have them in my landcruiser and love them.

I will keep you all upto date with the progress.

Cheers ben

Interesting choice.

Do Airlockers need some sort of air compresser to run?

If not, how are you going to feed the air into locker?

Any benefits over LSD besides that you could get them at staff prices?

well today it all began, the motor has come out and the engine bay stripped. Ill get some pics once my camera is up and running.

Ive marked all the wiring that is going to be stripped out. im looking forward to getting stuck into it during the week.

As for the airlocker mate, the main disadvantage to the airlocker is that you do need to remove the LSD and install the airlocker as its a complete centre and will then make it a single spinner when not engaged. The Air-locker does need a compressor to activate it, The compressor i am going to put in there weighs just on 1kg and is a 62ltr per min compressor. Which means it can also do tyre inflation when at a track to play with pressures. As this car is going to get driven also on the street the last thing i wanted was a 2 way as i wanted it to drive nicely and not so agressive when around town.

Heres a link to website for more info if your interested.

The rear diff in a skyline is the same as a front diff in a D22 Navara V6 current model
