It's quite sad that the Police target imports through defects etc...

And then there are thieves who target imports just for parts etc...

I have sworn to myself to never park in any of the car parks in the city. EVER.

Had similar experience at the Entertainment Centre carpark. Attempted but never got anywhere since I had an alarm / immobilizer and steering wheel lock.

Best of luck with it but it is common knowledge that these carparks in the city are swarming with teams of car thieves who target imports etc.

sorry to hear, im always out n about all over syd will keep and eye out for you...

my brother inlaw nearly had his r33 gtr series 3 stolen to star city last year, they broke into it, and managed to get up 2 floors (near the exit) the immobiliser stopped them from the driving car, but we suspect they had another car pushing it form behind as his rear bar was scratched.

the security guard wasnt helpful and didnt say much. we suspect an inside job

Newbie question... can you just buy a car alarm and have it installed yourself?

Yes you could, but you probably wouldn't do a very good job unless your an auto electrician.

The alarm install is more important than an alarm, but in some cases nothing is going to stop a thief, eg. if they have a tow truck.

i never park my car full stop... i cruise it, than park it back in my garage. if i go out for dinner i wont take it unless i can park it out the front of the place and be siting with it in sight at all times. Theres just too many losers out there. If you can afford a GTR you can afford a 1000buc daily driver to hack around in.

the thing with a club lock is that it slows the f**kers down. I use one on mine (a decent $60 dollar one) in conjunction with an immobiliser and loud alarm, due to the amount of abos who steal cars around here (including my old mans). Also have floodlights in the front and back yards.

My mate had his wrx stolen from that car park last week.

That place is dodgy!

In that case, I wonder what the LAC can reveal in the car-theft-stats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That'll reveal how dodgy it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That stakeout (+ bait) idea still seems intriguing - hmmm...

Yeah, if the five-0 can't do anything about it (because maybe they're in on it), perhaps a seemingly elderly couple in an innocuous turbocharged Foz could lie in wait for someone to break into a GT-R or STi (as bait); and then us oldies could gun it...

...and block off their escape. Got a couple of UHF radios too.

Now Genelle, all we need is a nice smick GT-R + young dudes in running shoes... :P:):(

Do you have pics of the car?

A steering lock is easy to get thru - they just cut the steering wheel.

I hate to say it, but Skylines rarely get found once they are stolen, and if they are found, there isn't much left of them.

I hope you had decent insurance cover.

    • 32010-AA520 - R34 RB25DET manual transmission, you can buy this new. You'll need a pull to push type clutch converter (to use R33 clutch kits), or buy pull-type clutch (R34 clutch).   R33 part number if you're lazy: 32010-21U00     Applies: RB25DET.MT.F5; Notes: FS5R30A
    • Hi All, Ive recently pulled my head in and gotten started on my 2year long project for my R32 RB25 swap, I went into it head high and confident it was an easy swap and plug and play wiring. I was wrong. The engine is a S1 RB25 and I'm running RB25 ECU And loom. I got the swap done a few weeks ago and have been working on the car on my time off, however i cannot get the engine to run, at first the engine would crank however the fuel pump would not run,  i dove a little deeper and realised that i would need to connect the wires from the RB25 Body Loom and the RB20 Body loom. went through the ECU pinout and followed the wires from the Body looms one by one to find what was needed to start the car. Now I have rewired the RB25 loom with the old R32 Body loom attached, however i am still having issues starting the car, now the pump works but still wont fire.  The car has spark but looks very weak, however I'm suspect that its not getting any fuel. I have read a few posts related to the "Main plug" near the air intake however cannot find any information on what wiring to hook up to where.  If anyone has done this swap, or has any knowledge at all on RB25's into 32 i would really appreciate your comment regarding this, im really keen to get this car finished.  Thanks in advance
