As above stated 45km/h or more over is 12 license suspension. I think there is 8 demerit points attached and approx $600 fine. For camera offence it won't be chased up for impounding just the fine, points and suspension.

Well my car got impounded from a mobile speed camera... Cops knocked on the door on a saturday morning, and i was like WTF?? I did not do that! yes that is my number plate officer! bye bye, car impounded! :) AND ALL THIS WITHOUT A PIECE OF PAPER SAYING I WAS SPEEDING, no infringement notice, nothing... i only got it in the mail after they impounded my car and i got it back... :)

Serg does flashing their headlights at you mean theyre rying to snap or was it an actual camera flash

What i meant was there was a mobile speed camera parked on the side of the road (nature strip) shooting their flash towards my face at night... It wasn't a cop car...

it was a parked undercover. the limit was 60, i was slowing down from 110. i pray i slowed down enough to be under 100 when it snapped.
I'm not aware of any speed limit that changes from 100 to 60 in 1 hit. They usually slow you to 80 or 70 first before 60. Anyway, you should have been slowing down as soon as you saw the 60 sign, which should be well before you got close to it.

I know of one, ernst wanke road (narre warren), off the freeway up the ramp.... 100km/h to 60km/h... seen cops around there waiting sometimes, but you can see the sign easy as its massive...

if the cops come to my house i swear my mum will kick me out. im f**ked hard. i should just go hand in my license right now so they dont come and take my car to the impound so they wont have to tow it.

Start packing your stuff ;):P:banana: and you have only had your p.s for a few weeks that will teach you not to speed

If you did +45km/h then start packing, if you did just under then get ready for just 6months license loss people said above... in 28days you will find out what is going to happen...

Rutherford Rd exit from Frankston fwy towards carrum downs...

I know this is going to sound weird coming from me but the guy already knows he's in shit...and just wanted to know how bad it is. Let the law and loss of licence do the finger waving for us...

Also if his story is true it is kind of shit IMO that he's going to receive the same penalty as someone who tries to do 105km/h in a 60 zone without a 100km/h zone in sight...and I'm aware ignorance is no defence.

Well that's more notice than the people in The Ring got ;)

Since when did he actually say that he was in a "100 zone" doing 105 then slowed to 60?

What I got out of it was he was doing 110 in a 60 zone, and tried to slow down to 100 before the speed camera.

I got a definite flash on Manningham Road doing 20 over... never received a ticket. Maybe you will get lucky!

oh im sooo careful near that camera - ive seen it go off so much!

they have set up another one @ the corner of victoria and doncaster road too

i know how f**ked i am. i had an passenger too, so ill get dicked for endangering another life. i really pray i was doing under 100 because that night i rang the cops, spoke to a sergeant and he said 40+ over is loss of license for 6 months and $580 fine, no matter what.

and thats just the minimum.

just for the record, it was emu road near highpoint shopping centre in the western sub's, google maps it if you want. There is frequent drags on this road, thats prob why he was set up. Its residential.

Would really really hate to be you :woot:

Should consider getting a Radar detector good ones cost about 600 buck but think about it no loss of license and $580 fine if you had 1

But good luck hopefully it was under 40

Kris, I believe that you are correct that if the car is on private property and you're not willing to hand it over for impound then a warrant is required.

But you guys can get a warrant and impound it then anyway, can't you?

    • Very decent bit of kit. Definitely black it out I reckon.
    • Because people who want that are buying euros. The people with the money to buy the aftermarket heads and blocks aren’t interested in efficiency or making -7 power, they’re making well over 1,000hp and pretty much only drive them at full throttle  best way to way make money is know your customer base and what they want and don’t spend money making things they don’t want.
    • It's not, but it does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity regardless. For example, what if the cylinder head was redesigned to fit a GDI fuel system? It's worth like two full points of compression ratio when looking at modern GDI turbo vs PFI turbo. I'm pretty reliably surprised at how much less turbo it takes to make similar power out of a modern engine vs something like an RB26. Something with roughly the same dimensions as a -7 on an S55 is making absolutely silly power numbers compared to an RB26. I know there's a ton of power loss from things like high tension rings, high viscosity oil, clutch fan, AWD standby loss, etc but it's something like 700 whp in an F80 M3 vs 400 whp in an R33 GTR. The stock TF035HL4W turbos in an F80 M3 are really rather dinky little things and that's enough to get 400 whp at 18 psi. This just seems unwise no? I thought the general approach is if you aren't knock limited the MFB50 should be held constant through the RPM range. So more timing with RPM, but less timing with more cylinder filling. A VE-based table should accordingly inverse the VE curve of the engine.
    • I've seen tunes from big name workshops with cars making in excess of 700kW and one thing that stood out to me, is that noone is bothering with torque management. Everyone is throwing in as much timing as the motor can take for a pull. Sure that yields pretty numbers on a dyno, but it's not keeping these motors together for more than a few squirts down the straight without blowing coolant or head gaskets. If tuners, paid a bit more attention and took timing out in the mid range, managed boost a bit better, you'll probably see less motors grenading. Not to name names, or anything like that, but I've seen a tune, from a pretty wild GT-R from a big name tuner and I was but perplexed on the amount of timing jammed into it. You would have expected a quite a bit less timing at peak torque versus near the limiter, but there was literally 3 degrees of difference. Sure you want to make as much as possible throughout the RPM range, but why? At the expense of blowing motors? Anyhow I think we've gone off topic enough once again lol.
    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power
