Thanks for coming along everyone, I really enjoyed it even if I wasn't in my car :D Wasn't expecting so many people lol, so sorry to anyone who didn't get a map.

Apologies again for the mistake in the map, that was my bad lol, glad it didn't mess everything up too much. I hope everyone had a good time, I was f**kin loving cruising with that 35!! Porn on wheels...

Make sure you check out www.westcoastcruisers.com.au, tonight is what we are all about and we are always trying to get some awesome cruises and events happening.

Also big thanks to Socs for leading from the first meet point to Warwick as I had no idea where I was going :thumbsup: And thanks to Bretto for being my voice all night lol, next time I won't have such a big night the night before...

Hope to see you all at the next one!!

sorry James I was relying on a dodgy navigator that decided to tell me to turn left at the last second and had to chop some people off :thumbsup:

nice people stopped at the lights on reid hwy, hopefully everyone got out in one piece.

I'll put some pics up later.

There were a lot of awesome cars there last night... I loved that white R33 GTR as well, very clean. And that white Legnum was nice as well. Mikey, your car is just beautiful though, still my fav :ninja:

Also very happy we didn't get any trouble from the cops, the ones that pulled up seemed like they were sensible and were just checking out our plates. Didn't see any cops for the rest of the night so they must not have called it in.

James, sorry again about Walker man, is the damage very bad?

Thread Cleaned and Warnings handed out.

Guys,

Keep all speeds and activity in regards to other Clubs cruises off SAU/SAUWA

SAU/SAUWA does not condone or promote attendees of other Car Club events and their actions.

* Edited

Agree with Mike, keep those types of things unposted, for your own sake.

WCC in no way condones that sort of behavior on the road. Therefore WCC and the organizers of this cruise take no responsibility for the actions of any of the attendees.

* Edit as asked Martin

Agreed with what Martin said. WCC cannot be held responsible for what people do. You're all individuals, your actions are your responsibility :P

Having said that, I had fun whoring in the blue Onevia. Well done with the cruise Martin, hopefully you'll have your car back next time.

No burnouts lol, not keen on destroying my car just after I have got it back :D I will be spending all day everyday driving my car from the moment I get it back man lol. Well actually lies, I shall be spending a fair bit of time modifying it too :P

Some nice photo's there dude, who was driving that GTi-R? I saw it going the wrong way at one stage lol, I was confused :)

    • Well, hydraulic lifters will get noisy if they are dirty/fouled in some way, and exactly how that manifests will depend on exactly what schmutz is where. There is a procedure on here somewhere for dismantling and soaking/cleaning them. Replacing them with new is about 50% of the work and about 5% of the money!
    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy this is is a hydraulic lifter engine. Yea right i did not realise the lifters were supposed to be compressible while installed. I could push them down but i had to lean almost my while body weight on them.  I have never heard of a lifter/ lifters ticking only at hot idle and getting worse the hotter it gets. I have owned a few jdm cars with noisy lifters. This noise is slightly more subtle, it is more of a sharp gentle metalic tic than the solid and more loud tapping I've heard on lifters. I have used a metal rod, alloy tube, hose and stethoscope and could not find the source of the tick. But it appears to be loudest on the actual engine block behind the exhaust cam gear and next to the oil filter. I had mate (40 year old mechanic) go over it with me and he couldn't find it either..  Could it be a cam seal issue of some sort?  Cheers
    • This seems problematic and unlikely at the same time. Vanilla RB2Xs have hydraulic lifters. They do have "zero" clearance, but only when running with oil pressure inside them. When not running, you should be able to compress them and obtain heaps of clearance. RB26s and Neos have solid lifters. They should have ~0.3mm and ~0.5mm on the inlet and exhaust respectively. If they have zero clearance then bad things are happening. With nothing else being wrong, it would mean that the valves would be held slightly (ever so slightly) open when they are supposed to be closed and it should have all sorts of problems when running, caused by leakage in/out through the valves. Or, zero clearance can indicate severe valve seat recession. None of it is good. Have you used a piece of hose as a stethoscope to try to localise the noise?
    • Sorry for reviving an old post, but I'm having the same hot idle tick issue. Did anyone ever find out what it was?  I have checked/ replaced Injectors Coils checked Lifter clerance (is at zero) Checked Cam lobes Replaced exhaust gasket and studs Would appreciate any advice this is driving me nuts
    • There's a huge reason manufacturers are tuning in dead flat torque curves... Make them reliable (and more drive able)
