So I had seen this car advertised and was pretty keen to go have a look at the build plate and perhaps suggest they change the advertising... However, it even has the V-Spec II model code on the firewall... I am not suggesting it is Edward Lees doing the dodgy here, they may well ne innocent victims but if you were going to this much trouble to make a $18000 (est as a non v-spec II) car into a $22000 wouldnt you at least try to get a car that was built the right year, or claim it as a V-spec I?

Adding a set of R33 Brembos is not hard, even V-spec production did not start until 4/93 pretty sure... Why do people like this who should know better advertise a car that could have never existed? Some poor bloke is going to buy that car and be over the moon at getting 1 of 1303 V-spec IIs for a steal, then in years to come find out he has been shafted (probably should have investigated it earlier, but some people still trust car dealers :nyaanyaa:

isn't it also likely that they just got the build month wrong and the other info is right? unless I misunderstand and you have 'fasted' the vin they provided and found the model year? bear in mind though that fast is not always 100% correct. I have even seen people with different copies get different build dates for the same chassis number...

ps, all the VS1 and VS2 BBS wheels are 8.5inch. :nyaanyaa:

    • I also built one, for a bit of a laugh. Pretty happy with it. Basically, obtained a clear garnish, painted it sanded back the paint off the letters, clear coated it. Inserted a 3cm EL strip through a slot I created in one end and sealed it up.

    • wow so i just logged back in after buying the 33 and joining SAU, And I've got all a whole bunch of you wanting to know more, well unfortunately it still doesn't run i was hoping it was seized from a snapped timing belt as i turned it over by hand and it was fine and then it did a few revolutions and jammed solid when i was running it with the key, so the timing belt is mint, I've also found a lot of the parts I'm removing have already got bolts undone or not quiet tight enough to be unsuspicious. so the plan is to find a running RB30 block and chuck my head on it.  I have a habit of buying stuff I don't need or require so for my none running engine i have a forward facing plenum , Apexi power fc, 40mm Turbosmart wastegate, And for the car its self coilovers ,low seat rails and BRZ seats (black seats with red stitching i already had these and they are ADR Approved and allow rear passengers access)
    • I took apart the dash and found this strange 2 pin connector. it dosen't seem like its factory or oem, any clue on why someone would add it and where it might have been connected too?
    • Not mention a SS2 especially with that rear oddly small rear housing. I feel the Facebook mechanics and experts has led OP in the wrong direction.
