Hey fellas,

I'd like to up the boost on my Stagea.

From what i've heard, 14psi seems to be the safe limit on the stock turbo, correct?

Who else has increased their boost?

I'm looking at using a manual bleed valve for now. Has anybody got any information or a walkthrough on how to install a boost controller on the VQ25DET?

Also, do our cars have boost cut? If so, when does it kick in?

Thanks boys,

Dimi

Hi Dimi,

14PSI seems to be standard on the AR-X so it is safe for you to run that. Our standard turbo's are probably starting to limits of longevity at 16PSI. If I was you I would stay away from manual bleed valve and go with something like HDI-SBC-D-EVOLUTION (http://www.hybrid-power.com/index.php) or simular......my reasoning behind this is that they will create and hold boost a lot better than a manual one.

Pretty sure the boost cut is 21PSI.....I know when we were pushing the Haltech I put on, we hit it at 21PSI but I have heard of someone else running more PSI with a different piggyback.

By the way if the turbo lets go...which it will....it's a bitch of a job...lol!

Easiest way to increase boost is to install a 3" (or larger) turbo back exhaust

Not only will you up the boost, but have a much nicer sound and a bit more power.

I am not using any boost controller but I can hit 1.3bar whenever I put my foot down.... or at least I could before my damn exhaust manifold started leaking.
