now that you told the world what to expect in your car !!!! , the crims can plan the disable of your GPS ...geez

when will people learn do not discuss what is in your car , alarms wise on forums !!!! not too wise

yes even gps can be foiled in a big hurry if you know its in the car.

I rigged up a hydrogen bomb to mine. Lets see the f**kers disable that.

-D

I think now is another time to get a free plug ...

SAU-SA club members get 10% discount at places like Autobarn Mile End, Ministry of Bass, Auto Perfection etc etc (hope I didn't miss anyone) and these guys stock and fit alarms!

Even if you don't want to join the club ... get an alarm anyway at the abovementioned installers.

And sorry to hear about your loss ... hope it turns up in some salvagable condition.

so many assumptions about security especially from admin and moderators, would expect the members to be that way and the moderators and admin to be helpful, yet its the opposite...the irony. Thanks to the person that pm'ed and those that posted helpful advice. I will be scanning, seaching and following up till my last breath.

Hang on - you joined up on SAU to whinge about your stolen car ffs. NOT to be a part of the community, not to help anyone else out, not to be part of anything .... except ask people's help and expect them not to be critical of a car that is uninsured and presumably unalarmed, presumably left out the front of someone else's house - then stolen.

Excuse us for pushing the point that if you don't have an alarm you deserve to have your car stolen, and by not having an alarm you personally cause all of our premiums to go up at next renewal "x"%, due to the additional ABS stat that shows Skylines do, if fact, get stolen.

Clearly if you did have an alarm, kill switches, and a Club lock, but THEN had your car stolen, you would have cleared that point up with us. So we assume otherwise.

If you did have all those things, then my heart truly goes out to you .... we all know that cars still can get stolen despite the best security - which is why even with all my security measures if I HAD to leave my Skyline somewhere unfamiliar I would park another car behind it, or at least pull the fuel pump fuse so they couldn't start the thing. And yes, I really would. When I had my old R34, which did have all the forementioned security items, when I parked at pubs to go play NPL Poker, EVERY TIME I parked at one of the pubs I popped the bonnet and removed my fuel pump fuse. I even purposely blew the same colour fuse and replaced the real one with a dummy - so even if they towed it a short distance and couldn't get it started it looked like the fuel pump fuse was still in there and good.

So clear it up right now, did it have an alarm? Kill switch? Club lock? Was it parked in a garage or on the street?

Have you heard me winge?.... I believe I asked for help. The only thing I have to winge about is your comments. Why should I tell you what security it had, so you can substatiate your assumptions and blunt comments..?. But your right, ive been building cars for 12 years and im stupid enough to have no alarm, no clublock, no anything???... yeah right. Clearly you dont want more people to join your community because with people like you cutting others down like you are, why would anyone want to? What difference does it make as to what terms somebody joins, it shouldn't.....

Im sorry you now need to pay $5.00 more on your insurance, but frankly it gives me a mild amount of satisfaction that im costing you money.

Your extremely rude, reply with whatever you want to justify your comments but Ive got nothing left to say to you.

Stuff the steering wheel, If I get the car back ill give the person that leads to or finds the car 25% of the sale cost. Any percentage of somthing is better than 100% of nothing

Shotgun your steering wheel - if you receive the car back in anything less than 1 piece and want to part it out.

I should rephrase that, i dont think anyone wants the sales cost...sale value

    • Hey guys I’m chasing a Rb20det complete or bare block need a good running engine as mine has low comp
    • You're making my point for me. 95 is not "premium". It is a "slightly higher octane" version of the basic 91 product. The premium product that they want people to buy (for all the venal corporate reasons of making more profit, and all the possibly specious reasons of it being a "better" fuel with nicer additive packages) is the 98 octane stuff. 95 is the classic middle child. No-one wants it. No-one cares about it. It is just there, occupying a space in the product hierarchy.
    • 98 and 95 have to meet the same national fuel standards beside the actual RON.  91 has lower standards (which are quite poor really), so 95 is certainly not 91 with some octane booster. It would be an easier argument to claim 98 is just 95 with some octane boosters. Also RON doesn't specify 'quality' in any sense, only the octane number.  Anything different retailers decide or not decide to add to their 95 or 98 is arbitrary and not defined by the RON figure.
    • Anyone know alternatives to powerplus tungsten? Can't find an alternative online.
    • 95 is just a scam outright. 98 is the real "premium" with all the best detergents and other additive packages, and at least historically, used to be more dense also. 95 is just 91 bargain basement shit with a little extra octane rating. Of course, there's 91 and there's 91 also. I always (back in the 90s early 2000s) refused to put fuel in from supermarket related fuel chains on the basis that it was nasty half arsed shit imported from Indonesia. Nowadays, I suspect that there is little difference between the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the "bargain" chains and the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the big brands, given that most of it is coming from the same SEAsian refineries. Anyway - if there's still anything to that logic, then it would apply to 95 also. 98 is only made in decent refineries and, as I said, is usually the "premium" fuel, both in terms of octane rating and "use this because it's good for your engine because it's got the unicorn jizz in it!".
