Oh i am absolutely stoked with the results. I had a chat with another skyline owner there i think he may be on here and said he has trouble cracking 14.4 in his turbo line. Sorry i havent had a chance to get the digital camera fixed yet but ill borrow a mates sometime during the week. Fuel pump is the stocko and it has absolutely no problems the car when nos is activated is very rich the A/F guage goes birzirk and the and everygreen bar lights up and nothing else so there is definately no prbs with the pump. My mechanic/boss told me they are VL pumps and are capable of devilering a fair amount of fuel though i cant remember exactly what hp he said there good for.

Where are all the others that said they were getting it?? it took me an hour and a 1/2 to put my kit in and that included removing stereo from my boot and looking after customers and the rest.

Cheers

John

mate theres plenty more to come, im so stoked about everything, im getting an rb30 block hopefully in the next week or so, my boss is gonna show me how to port and polish my head and were gonna wack that on hopefulyl within a month, so 3 ltr twin cam skyline very soon, then next on the list will be forgies and 200hp nos jets. I forgot to mention that before the rb30 block goes in ill have the crank balanced and the rods shot peened and replace the rings and bearings. After forgies will be microtech engine management and cams and then a long wait while i save to upgrade the brakes to 5 stud GTR brembo's and new mags. Then in a few years big custom plenum and some **** off big turbo when my insurance premiums come down some more but for the next year or so i think im gonna stick with a really tuff NA line.

Seeing the look on peoples faces when i tell them there is no turbo is priceless and beating vl turbo's with my NA line makes me feel even better (yes i did do it on sat at willowbank it was great, and this thing had like the biggest intercooler id ever seen and guages and all the knobo stuff).

Cheers

John

knore: Im a mechanic at Gilmour Developments, the workshop specialises in building race cars and very tuff street cars with very little car audio on the side and will also do alarms etc.

ive never actually had my car on the dyno, its always been street tuned by myself, or a good friend of mine (one of the best mechanics i know) as im only an apprentice. The car is sposed to make around 140hp at the crank stock so im assuming with nos and my mods its well over 200.

Cheers

hehe sorry  bad assumption from your avatar picture

Gilmore RD, where abouts is that?

Also some q's

-Is NOS flammable? I herd somewhere it was just cold air and thought ..

-Where abouts do u plug it up to, and do you always have the tanks open or leave them closed untill your using it.

NOS in its own state is not flamable, hold a flame to it and nothing happens, the reaction occurs when it enters the combustion chamber and breaks down at 400 and something degreese to become nitrogen and oxygen, the extra oxygen being created in the combustion chamber is what gives it the extra power, its like a turbo but the pressure comes from within. Ill get some pics asap but the jet is just tapped into the plastic intake pipe newhere between the AFM and the throttle body. It is ok to leave the bottle open but i personally wouldnt recomend it for extended periods of time. Go for a drive for a day sure open up the bottle and go for a cruise but when u get home that night id be turning it off.

cheers

John

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
