onto you - why do you want new headlights? have you tried a re-condition? if you REALLY need new headlights (as in you've tried everything to get them looking nice there's a REALLY nice pair i can show you... i'll PM you the link

actually - i'll just post it here in case you aren't good with computers :)

Hah :nyaanyaa: I'll have a look now. I'm doing the whole sanding back to up to 3000 grit and polish every 2 months or so; my car is left outside all week, so it kinda ends up just going shit again. I'll have to invest in a good car cover or something... Holy poop, not bad; 129USD... WATCHED!

Also: While I'm all for sticking with original, I know Juz is on his L's, and might not have enough money to be buying the real deal on wheels. Personally, I love my Rays LM-GT3's and wouldn't trade them for the world, I just know how unaffordable they are for some people.

Definitely a good set of coilovers and swaybars though! They'll make the car feel brand new in terms of cornering.

then just buy the new headlights :nyaanyaa:

you HAVE tried putting a sealant on the headlight, yeah? like a UV protectant?

and - this is at juz and CPD - i don't get it?

everyone always says "what if you can't afford japanese"

...i just posted work meisters with tyres for $1600 delivered. how much would a set of XXRs with tyres cost?

I've tried some sealants, nothing seems to be working though... :) So I think I'll just splash. Cause that's a damn nice price, even including postage from Japan.

As for those rims: Oops; kinda scrolled past that a bit too quick.

JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market. Given its a Japanese car, I'm gonna say its JDM already!

Pretty much what I was thinking. I would spend wisely as there's nothing worse than spending money on cosmetics that actually make the car look worse than a stocker!

Other then that, plenty of carbon fibre, some BRIDE seats with full BRIDE interior trim, stretched tires, epic fitment wheels, your well on your way!

I agree with NA_goodness. carbon fibre, bride seats and some decent fitment wheels. i prefer a slightly less aggressive fitment with a non-stretched tyre but thats just me (i use 18x9.5 +28 with 245 front and 18x9.5 +38 with 275 rear). this probably makes my car less "JDM" but meh.

what do you guys think of the v1 aero set?

erm.. no.

go through the 34 pages of that thread plenty off tough 33s there

how u want the car to look? racey, drift style? chap lap style?

Well this is what I have in mind:

Nismo Gear Shifter (Dildo style silver :) )

Exhaust/Extractors (Not a cannon tho)

Black Window Tint

Rims

Body Kit (400r or V1 Aero Style)

Cold Air Induction

Bucket seat's/Harnesses But Need Wide Bucket Seats Cause Im a fat bastard

Nismo Smoked Side Indicators

Xenon Head-Light Conversion

White L.E.D Globes Replacing Dash Dials (but i dont want to do it myself, i did it on my previous car and didnt like pulling the cluster apart, it changed the dials)

Thats about it...

But i need part names and brands etc cause i have no idea etc. My car is a white series 2 R33 GTS

Blame me for putting the topstage kit idea in his head alr33x, Juz msged me a while ago asking about a lot of the details of my car, and this kit (and lots of juzs list above) are from mine. i think the topstage kit can look good, but thats just my opinion.

this leads me to my point for juz. what kind of "JDM". there are lots of different looks out there, from race cars, drifters, VIP cars. just decide in your head what you want from your car, both in performance and looks and build it how YOU want it. thats what i did with mine and i dont even know if other people would call it JDM or not. i dont particularly care because its how i want my car and that what matters. dont chase part names and brands neccesarily. If its a GTS i agree with eps. coilovers and wheels to start, and dont buy copies. Buy second hand cast wheels like Works. As i said last PM Juz, message me if you ever have questions or ideas, im happy to throw ideas around with you.

wells eps, Im from hiroshima but im currently living in campbelltown sydney. sorry for this topic, all I was orginally was after was idea's to make a Sweet Show ( Carbon Bonnet, Etc) JDM Influenced R33

ahhh i see!!! don't be sorry for making the thread i wasn't snapping at you i just honestly didn't think you were being for realsies! basically saw you're "from" hiroshima, and thought "wouldn't he KNOW how to get the JDM look?) (ps what the hell is jdm look anyway)

moving on, why would you get a carbon bonnet? they're dangerous for one thing, (that's nor here nor there)

but 99% of them look like pus. (less air vents the better)

and for what, saving weight on your car? it's a non turbo! ...doing weight reduction mods on a non turbo is kinda contradictory, the engine of the car still goes slow... so some may call it rice! - but hey, it's your car! do what ever you want with it!!! but you asked advice and i giving it

wheels and coilovers will change the entire look of the car. PERIOD. it will make your car memorable, people will mention "the slammed white GTS with the black work meisters"

you COULD buy extractors, but let's be real here, you're in this car cos you're on your P's. the minute you get open class you're going to be in the market for anything turbo... so why spend thousands of dollars on exhaust mods when you're just going to be selling the car in about 18 months time anyway?

$2000 spent on intakes, extractors, dump pipes, cat backs, tuning (trust me it's easy to get up to spending this much) could INSTEAD be used for $2000 toward your next turbo car. and that's about 1/5th of it THERE, DONE.

lowering, wheels. DONE. "JDM" is there.

to everyone else... buying counterfeit chinese wheels is not JDM btw =P

do what ever you want - it's your car... but don't get ADHD and start putting flame stickers on it and carbon canards on your carbon bumper and carbon fenders dude... it's a non turbo.

white R33's look great if the headlights are kept nice, the paint is kept clean, the wheels are neat and the stance is low.

when you start putting eyelids, vented bonnets, roof scoops, scissor doors etc - that's when they look like garbage. and trust me - they can be VERY hard to sell down the track.

Yeah, I think Rims and Coilovers are the way to go... i dont want it low so it will scrape tho  um, any idea's of coilovers i can get when i go home in december and bring back? Like affordable teins etc?? and rims, prob rims first buy my main issue will be $$$

Work meisters. black. would look GREAT on a white R33.

18in by 8.5 +24 all round

with tyres

about 1600/1700 deliv. to victoria

ghey! width/offset fail.

sean a bit more is done to your car than he is suggesting, since i didnt notice non turbo dont bother wheels, suspension milo tin job done.

stance is where its at these days

Juz,

I got the BC Racing from JustJap; I know they're not perfect or "race" coilovers, but they're pretty nice for the road. Although I'm a bit biased; I had SLAMMED D2's, that were paaiiiiiiiinful.

Next meetup I'll have to take you for a quick run so you can see how they feel.

    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
    • Ceramic coating and heat shielding, you mean?
    • Turbos don't require pulling the motor apart so that's "easier". I would recommend the Nismo R3 turbos instead if you want to do stock twin turbo. It doesn't make as much power as the 2530s but it's only like ~50 whp off the mark and should have better response (ball bearing CHRA, slightly smaller turbo). A local that went with a Garrett G30 and 6boost manifold recently nearly burned his car to the ground after the hood insulator started melting and and burning so if you go single turbo I recommend doing a lot of research and validation work to make sure you don't do the same.
    • New rear lights, filler panel sprayed, cleaned and back together    before, during, after shots 😍
    • 100% is gyprock, I agree. Slip of the keyboard. Haha! I left my indicator bulbs out to save a bit of weight.
