all stock, raise the boost on the 32s rb26 and it should be a different story. cant do much with na =(

Oh buddy, theres pleanty you can do!

VQ35HR, 6 throttles with tuned length intake runners, decent mandrel bent headers, high flow exhaust, aftermarket ecu with VVT control. = 360 - 380Hp depending on quality of execution? :)

I was actually hoping that the v35 will do better. Again the brakes seems to be fading after 3 laps just like in another clip where the v35 went against some rx8s and 350z.

Yup!... That's why I love this clip.

Unfortunately the cost to power gains ratio is far higher than FI

if u had alot of $$$ that is. the amount spent on making an NA to 360-380hp, would be better spent to FI the car. :P

and also from what i meant was...without spending a single dollar *maybe just a manual controller* you raise the boost of the 32 it will beat the v35 with ease. with the NA you cant do much...well nothing at all really if you werent going to spend any $ on it.

What Clip?? I wanna see... post it. I always love watching our cars do battle. There isn't enough of it.

Yeah you got a point mate but seriously, you're comparing Turbo VS NA... Of course a few tweeks here & there will turn the tables for the R32...

My point was that (despite the massive head start lol) a heavy stock NA-Rear-Wheel Drive 350GT was able to beat a lighter stock 4-wheel-drive R32 GTR V spec lap for lap... which deserves a thumbs up. :P True?

If any of you guys have any more Hot Version or Best Motoring clips of our 350GTs can you point me to them... Thanks.

Yes you can get more gains from a turbo motor by just winding up the boost BUT a well tuned NA is so different and sounds so awesome!

You can't go past the sound of individual throttles at full noise and the lumpy idle with a set of high duration cams is just too nice. I also think that completing the mods that I mentioned earlier would be on a par if not cheaper than a turbo / supercharger kit.

If the track was empty I think the R32 would have done a faster lap time than the V35. He was simply stuck behind him a few times.

Tyres, drivers, condition of vehicle, etc would also play a part. The R32 is 15 years older.

In any case, slightly disappointing result for the V35. Stock vs stock vs stock i thought it would be at least a little bit closer to the other cars.

Gotta agree with Brad as I was kinda disappointed as well seeing the v35 so far behind the imprezza and lancer..... was hoping to be much closer although those are 4WD cars.

Yeah, and the TS version is like $6k, seriously why bother?

Exactly. 6k is the US price just for parts. Add the rest as well as tune and supporting parts and you've gotta be nuts to build an NA V35. Or etremely rich and don't mind losing money.

i understand where you're coming bud, nothing better then pure NA sound. but like i said what i meant was *without spending any money* all that the 32 has got to do is the boost up. na no...

individual throttles....mmmmmm

    • Surely the merged entity will be called "Honda" given the relative company values. I've got to be honest, I don't understand how merging 2 companies that missed EVs (despite Nissan making the first mass produced one) will solve their problems
    • If you haven't bought the ECU yet, I would strongly consider buying a modern ECU. Yes it is very easy to setup and tune, however it is lacking many of the features of a modern ECU. The pro plug in is something like 10 or 12 years old now? Can't remember exactly but it is very dated now. In that time the Elite was released and now we have the Nexus platform.  I would strongly consider not buying the ECU that is 3 generations old now (especially as it isn't a cheap ECU!).
    • Im happy for it as long as it means reanult gets the boot
    • Sorry I should have been more clear with the previous post.  The block is a sanding block - picture something like this https://motorguard.com/product/motor-guard-bgr161-bgr16-1-rigid-psa-sanding-block-2-5-8-x-16/ The guide coat is the paint It's two separate things I was talking about, there is no "block guide coat".
    • Maybe more accurately, you aren't just dulling the existing paint, you are giving the new paint something to 'grab on to'. By sanding the existing paint, you're creating a bunch of pores for the new paint to hook on to.  You can lay new paint over existing paint without sanding it, might last a year or two then sad times. The paint will peal/flake off in huge chunks. By sanding it, the new paint is able to hang onto it and won't flake off.  Depends on the primer you are using. When you buy your paint, as the paint supplier what grit of sand paper to use before you lay down the primer.  Use whatever you like as a guide coat. Pick a colour that really stands out in contrast to the paint. So say your sanding/painting a currently white car, using a black guide coat would work well. You very lightly lay the black guide coat down, then as you sand the car with the large block, all the high spots and low spots will stand out as the black paint is sanded off (or isn't sanded off).  When you buy your paint, hit up your supplier for recommendations for what paint to use for a guide coat if you're unsure what would work well with your setup.
