Holy crap I have been slack with this thing!

Where to start....

Well starting this freaking thing has been one battle after the other.

Got a little side tracked with a new turbine kit to replace the original ETM kit.

Kit consisted of stainless manifold, trust type c wastegate and Turbonetics T66 turbine.

Was very excited when all went to plan and the thing ran/performed perfectly. Conservative tuning saw the thing spit out around 310rwkw on 14psi

Indeed was very fun to drive then.... This excitement and joy was short lived however.

Fast forward 3 days from date of picking up the car tuned and ready to go. Had a run in with the local police regiment.

I must admit I had been fairly slack with a few things on the car and they managed to stick me with a considerable defect list haha

This has led to a few sooner than planned up grades.

Things that have changed have been namely the turbine kit, now have Nismo instrument cluster with Nismo centre triple guages and most importantly I have a nice shiny modification plate....

Had all items in question rectified the very next day and the following night was having a spirited drive with a friends Aristo... for the second time in the cars career 3rd gear had thrown in the towel...

Off we went for a new gearbox lol.

Car as of tomorrow will be relegated to the garage as I finally have enough motivation to get things rolling and time/money is not really worrying me now that I have a work car

Items that will be removed from the vehicle will be the Turbonetics T66 (already sold)

OEM GTR seats have already been removed.

Items that are in the proocess of being ordered:

Precision Billet Series 6765 (T04Z equivlant)

Driver and Passenger Bride Zieg III seats

Hypertune Plenum with 92mm Single Throttle Body

Hypertune Billet Dual Entry Fuel Rail

Another PSI Parts Carbon Difuser

PSI Parts Carbon Lip Spoiler as i have not had a OEM wing on it for ages and sick of the old Devil Horns look

Garage Defend Stingray Front Canards

After throwing around a few ideas and weighing up the options and bang for buck factor, I have decided the ultimate goal will be to work on an exchange BC 2.8 litre storker engine through Powertune. I was suprised at how much this did not cost lol.

Still tossing up ideas surrounding the head to suit the application mentioned above. However i will cross that bridge when I get to it lol.

With these ideas floating around it would be stupid to leave the OEM brakes in place so there will be a slight over haul in need.

Nothing to crazy, ditch the junk OEM rotors and replace with some slottled and dimpled RDA's with some decent pads, braided lines and new fluid obviously. Calipers will be removed and broken down in order to get powder coated and then have a rebuild kit thrown through it once this has been completed.

Next area of concern is the suspension. Again nothing to outlandish as after all this will mainly be a street car as in Townsville we are not really blessed with any worthwhile tracks.

Will ideally look around for Nismo R Tune coilovers (many hours on RHD Japan coming up)

Moonface HICAS canceller bar allong with the stregthened tie rod ends

Whiteline Swaybars front and rear

Full bush kit to replace all OEM Rubbers

May look into lower and upper control arms as well in the future however Ikeya Formula ain't cheap so we'll see how that goes.

Fuel system will be getting a litle bit of attention, will be upgraded to run twin external 044's and after seeing the new Aftermarket Industries kit in the flesh this may get the nod. All rubber lines will be replaced with braided lines. May keep the 750cc injectors in place for the time being and see how they go.

I think that will do for now. I will have to upload some vids of the current set up as there is nothing like a 2 inch screamer

Look forward to posting up progress and pics of the parts haulages very soon

Haha yes it will be a fun 6-9 months thats for sure.

Thats the time frame I am setting on myself for this little project but we all know how time frames go lol

Keen to get the ball rolling and see some parts turn up :w00t:

not 100% convinced with the BC stroker, the counter weights on the crank dont look rev friendly. think i will be leaning towards the tomie 2.8 with 9:1. new shooping list looks epic tho, cant wait to see some vids when its done marty ;)

Little bit of an update,

Turbine has been sold, standard seats have also been sold.

Have locked down BLITZ's pair of Bride Zieg III fixed back seats which should arrive next week hopefully :)

Weighing up a few options turbine wise as a kit has become available with the turbo I'm chasing at an attractive price so may look at going that way instead of just using the stainless manifold I have at present.

Pics to come :) stay tuned

First things first, a big big thanks to Nick (BLITZ) for all of his help in the purchase of his 2 Bride Zieg III fixed back seats.

Turned up this morning and will be in the car this afternoon  after this there isn't much left on the interior to finish it off, just a custom panel that will be laser etched to cover where the back section of the rear seat used to be and then trim up the areas remaining to finish it off. Also the last things needed will be a Defi BF amber oil pressure and fuel metre to join the oil temp and water temp and boost metre as well as a Nardi Deep Corn sterring wheel mated to a billet Works Bell Rapfix boss kit (the tilt flat one not the removable one) and then some Takata harnesses to put the cherry on top

Also have to start stock piling the other bits and pieces to get this all rolling forward

Haha well this latest setup I have secured will be the last one for quite a while I'd say haha Managed to get a good deal on a decent steam pipe manifiold and Precision Billet Series 6262

Will definitely be a good thing I reckon  Can't wait to get my hands on it and fit it up in about 2 weeks

Finally moved my standard intercooler and also my existing manifold and gate so definitely keen to get my 60mm gate on

Need to make a start on the interior and get that finished off now that I've made the biggest change

sweet mate, be good to see how it will go on the highway.

adam is going to get a price this week on the steering wheels & boss kits.

should get the screamer made the same as your first one. it was pretty epic :worship:

have you put the front drive shaft back in?

Haha the old boomerang :rofl2: nah this one will be roughly in the same area as with the turbonetics set up (off the collector) however it'll be a big nasty HKS GTII 60mm

I'll be slightly gay now as I will finally have anti surge though :O haha

I have to get the GTR in the garage so I can pull the front end off the car (guards, bonnet and bumper) for re painting as the guards are a fair bit faded on the top and the front bumper needs attention but she's getting there slowly, I love living off Mi Goreng noodles haha

well finally some progress with some collected parts. Also some very average quality pics for now until I get some more over the weekend when the new kit should all be mounted up and turn key

The manifold that came with the turbine was definitely a bit more of an issue than originally planned but will work very nicely. The biggest issue is the location of the new gate but all should roll through nicely now that its been sorted.

Getting there slowly thats for sure lol.

Manifold has been modded and fits good now with the big 60mm gate dropped in a good location.

Runners 3 and 4 had to be re routed and also waste gate completely changed around to suit new gate.

The only thing holding this thing up from final assembly is one stupid V Band clamp to affix the gate to manifold and the awesome thing about Townsville is that shock horror no one has anything to suit... The search continues

Well finally some updates and pics for you guys.

After purchasing a rather nice manifold and Precision Billet Series off a top bloke on this forum (Pete) and also some Bride seats off another member (Blitz) I had some goodies to play with on the car at long last.

First issue as you can see with the manifold, the first are for concern was thefront wastegate pipe. As you can see the pipe landed smack bang on the engine mount

img1456n.jpg

img1457k.jpg

This was easily removed and then we were hoping for smooth sailing..... However the next issue was cylinder 3 and 4 runners.....

img1475t.jpg

img1478s.jpg

The only thing left to do was this......

img1478s.jpg

img1514iv.jpg

img1508y.jpg

img1518r.jpg

As you can see the runners now have an alternate route compared to before. They now go over the top rather than under and back into the collector. Next issue was trying to squeeze the new 60mm gate in somewhere

img1536gv.jpg

we ran it with 40NB stainless steampipe to aid a little more flow for the big sucka and then a flare out to waste gate seat

The car is now only waiting for the new gasket to show up for the dump pipe and it can all be thrown on and started.

This is how it sits as of tonight

Due to the location of the manifold etc it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that the comp housing be T88 mounted... on this size turbo it looks a little strange but its growing on me

More pics to come tomorrow for you guys
