Just a quick one,

Looking at getting my rb25 cams reground, but would it be better to try and find a set of rb26 cams and regrind them?

Engine will be a 25/30 with no VCT and a Modified TD-07s turbo, Now if i remember correctly I cannot use a 20 or 26 intake cam Gear on the VCT cam.

I know a few guys have had cams done by Tighe Cams, but I dont know of any who are still active on here.

I think they were done to around 240ish degrees total duration and a tad more lift.

Hope someone can help out, as the budget wont allow for a set of aftermarket cams.

Thanks

Andrew

Also keen to hear on this.. I have RB25DE cams and my turbo builder has told me to go for something in the region of 256/9.0IN and 264/9.0EX, regrinds seems the cheapest/still good option but what base cams should I start with? or does it not matter?

I dont think they will be able to grind the stock cams to that sort of lift without needing longer valve stems,

Lift isnt a huge worry for me as I just want a little more duration to help the 3L breath better at high revs.

I thought you could go like 9.5mm without needing any headwork?

you can, but the base circle on the cams would be too small to get that lift so the lifters wont touch the cams, hence the need for longer valves

242 is stock duration, so you probably want similar to what bubba has said anyway.

Cool so should be able to get 252 fairly easy.
