Motorists' Petition On Responsibilty

We members of car clubs and motoring enthusiasts petition the Police Minister of this state to act on our behalf and set up meetings with the Police Commissioner so we can work together to improve (and even reward) responsible driving on our state's roads.

We support a "WE" attitude rather than a "THEM Vs US" attitude in Highway Patrol policing.

I appreciate your support, details, signature and time! Signatures should be hand-written please!

Terrence Tung-Yep - Justice Of The Peace (since 1970)

Downloads of your petition sheets (with hand-written details and signatures) can be mailed to...

Information:-

This petition manuscript was drafted by 14 older members of car clubs around Australia, of which I'm privileged to be just one of them.

This petition is meant to be downloaded and distributed to other organisations like car clubs, motoring organisations, car magazines and the MTA.

This petition is a NSW petition only. It can certainly be used as a template for other states. Other authors of this manuscript came from other states too!

Inventory:-

So far, this petition has been accepted and is now distributed by the following...

* Performance Imports Magazine's Newsletter via Jason Round

* Prelude Australia

This list will be added to, through your help!

Intentions:-

One MP (Louise Markus) has already signed this petition 21/7/10 and has encouraged me to go all the way...

...to the Police Minister of this state.

Q. How can you help?

A. Distribute this petition to other clubs forums please, and post up here which ones you've posted on.

Thanks in advance. :D

...always impressed with the hard work you put into helping us :(

Aww shucks...

One thing we empty nesters and semi-retirees have, is a bit of extra time.

And when we see a post like yours, we get to thinkin': this is all worthwhile.

And one more thing; if "A Current Affair" or Today Tonight" were to read a post like yours - or better still, if their viewers could see your appreciation, they'd be proud that this country is still in good hands... :)

    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
    • We import a lot of cars from Japan. I'd say that approximately 20% of our traffic is imported JDM cars (mainly consumer cars like the Mazda Demio, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Suzuki Swift, etc.). We also import a lot from the UK, but this has decreased after Brexit. Apart from the consumer vehicles, two of the larger, well-known dealerships frequently import iconic '80s/'90s JDM cars. I haven't heard of anyone importing from Australia, and they are not advertised (unlike Japanese ones), despite a lot of Maltese migrating to Australia in the '50s and '60s.
