Hey guys

as the title suggests Im having a bit of a problem. I was changing my sisters oil in her R32 yesterday. All went fine till we started the car. Oil basically gushed from under the car. It wasnt because the sump plug was loose and it also wasnt coming from the filter. I have no idea what it could be so im wondering if anyone could help. The oil was coming from just behind the sump itself and I cant really spot what it is. Could it be that the oil pump coincidentally gave way on the day we were changing the oil???

Any thoughts????

cheers guys

How long did the car go without a oil change for? A diesel mechanic once told me whenever he had customer vehicles that went without an oil change for years or rediculous km's (20,000km +), the old oil actually kept the seals in place, it wasn't until the new oil went in that the seals would let go (rear main seal etc).

Did the o-ring from the old filter definitely come off before you put the new filter on?

Have had a lot of cars where the old o-ring sticks to the sealing area so if you didn't check & just put the new filter on, obviously it wouldn't seal...
