Hey guys.

Started my car up on friday morning, in which it felt like absolute shit. The traction light was on, slip light was on, and the check engine light was on. WHILE IN IDOL.

Shaky as anything like a cylinder was completely missing. Turned the car off and started it back up, it disapeared.

Then while i was driving, it happened again, lights back on, and a very unstable car.

We checked the coilpacks which ive had for about 9 months now, new yellowjackets, and removed 1 lead at a time as the car was running and it was the exact noise which it had been making.

we ended up finding that it was number 6 not doing anything, so we took it out and placed in in the spot of number 1, after this, 6 was ok and 1 became the problem.

Is this a common thing and why did the stated lights appear?? do i have a ecu problem, im going to get in touch with my coilpack supplier as one is buggered.

Appreciate the help guys.

You've answered your own question... if swapping the coilpack to a different cylinder moves the problem to that cylinder, you could be fairly confident that its the coilpack that is causing the problem.

I've had one of them fail recently. I'm interested to find out if there are any others.

Have you got the yellowjackets aswell??

Im confused as to why the traction lights were on while in idol, any ideas???
