Hi Guys

I found couple of good R34s. I need your opinion on that.

I need a 4 door car.The only thing which stops me is Turbo or Non- Turbo.I like powerful cars everyone does.But what do you guys think should i get a turbo.

Coz i have been reading about the cops and Turbo skylines blabla and every time they are trying to give you some kind of fine.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION GUYS?

You'll only get trouble if you're on your P's in a turbo Skyline. From the outside its very hard to tell if a car is NA or turbo (GTRs excluded), cops just pull over Skylines in general.

Buy the GT-T, P platers have pushed NA prices right up and the turbo costs little more for a much, much better car. I promise you'll regret buying an NA, unless you're on your P's. In which can you'll probably regret getting the turbo.

Thanks for the quick reply buddy.I am not a P plater so i guess then Turbo it is then? what about the maintenance cost between Na and Turbo.

2 doors are better than 4 :)

but yeah, from the outside, a cop would not know 99.9% of the time.

kit, rims, ride-height, exhaust noise, tint can be cop magnets regardless of turbo/NA - so it comes down ultimately to what you do with the car.

prioritise what you need/want the car for, and i'm sure the decision will be self-evident

I may be slightly biased seeing as I own a GT-T Sedan, but I say definitely go that way :) I bought mine completely stock, and got next to no attention from the police in it, and with standard exhaust and panel filter there were no give-aways that it was even turbo, but it still had the zip.

Maintenance is still just good oil, fairly often. More important with a turbo car, but the same costs pretty much. All other maintenance like suspension, brakes etc, is still all the same. Maybe with a slight price increase for pads/discs, as i'd imagine they're slightly bigger on the turbo car. Negligible differences really.

but if you're not going to track it, or take it through some twisties on the weekend, etc etc then do you really need the turbo? Is it just a nice car to cruise around in? Are you planning on doing lots of kms in it? If it's more an a-b car, with a lot of kms there is fuel economy to take into account between the two. So figure out what you want the car for, and i'm sure you'll be able to decide easier.

I absolutely agree with you but when you said am i going to track it?. is there any way i could utilize its power officailly on road.I can not afford a track for my self but dont know what other guys do with turbo or lets say what do you do with your turbo?

if you're looking for a little fun every now and then, just go to SAU's deca days. Not that hard on the car really (you can make it as easy on the car as you like if you really want), and only $70 i think?

Not that long a drive out to Shepparton, full day of having fun. That would probably satiate the track thirst.

In the mountains there are some great roads, i don't know about west, but there are some great roads there as well, some of the SAU vic cruises go out that way. You don't have to be stupid or break speed limits etc, just have a bit of fun with some spirited driving in some windy roads.

Great ocean rd has some very nice stretches as well.

So there are places you can take the car for a nice drive, but SAU Vic also offers some cheap track fun if you want as well.

If you're finding the price difference between the two aren't great, maybe just get the turbo, and then you can do whatever you want. Not to say you can't take the NA out, i guess you'd just have a bit more fun in the turbo

i drive a GTT on my P's cops don't hassle you unless your are a "hektik, fully sick uleh driver"

i owned the car for about 4 months now no hassles

but last weekend i went thro a booz bus and got dicked lol

driving a high powered vehicle 3 points $239 fine

P-plate & turbo is always a risk - a risk of losing your license as all it takes is to be pinned ONCE and get 3 points.

Get pinned a 2nd time and that's it, license is gone so there is no 2nd chance.

Plenty get away with it, and plenty don't.

If you need your license for work/employment I'd strongly suggest using some logic and buying N/A.

Dude, its gotta be 2 door and turbo!!

Whats the point of buying an r34/skyline if your not going to do it up or leave it stock?? geeeez..

Lol, not everyone buys a Skyline for performance ;) Some do buy it for the looks, and that's why they won't "do it up" hehe
