From the rails i have seen, especially the side mount seats rails, its just flat bar bent up with tabs welded for the mounts

you could go 50/50 and simply brace the bride rail better by adding flat bar sections to re-inforce the mounts and make a T or angle from the forward facing sections.

I added 15mm angle iron the underside of it, welded to the sides of the rails. They are just crap...I know why I made my own 345kg rail which now sites in Baron's car :) But the thing is just badly designed when you throw a 105kg Aussie in it and try to go around corners.
