can anyone tell me if a RB30 power steer pump bracket is what i need to use and does the 25 pump fit??

Use the RB25 bracket and RB25 pump, the bracket has to have the top lug cut back level with the bottom two (as all three bolt to the block now instead of two on block one on head like normal RB25).

Just a side note on the pump.. what balancer are you using? if using say an RB26 ATI balancer you'll need to use an RB26 bracket and pump, the top lug still needs to be ground back though.

You can use the 25 bracket and pump with the 26 ati balancer. Just requires abit of stuffing around to make sure the belt likes up good. But its no real issue for a half decent mech.

The cast iron bracket is pretty soft, you can cut the top lug off with a hacksaw pretty easily and neatly. As long as you get a reasonably straight cut it will bolt on and be fine.

Y does a 25 pump and bracket need to be used?

i have fitted a rb30 bracket and pump to my build, just had to get a shorter belt. also i am using a ross harmonics metal jacket balancer.

im also using rb30 alternator and n1 water pump. and had no issues with the belt linning up/fitting.

not running aircon.

apart from the lug the 30e and 25det brackets looked identical to me, so i used to the 30 one, bolts straight up

I think the main issue is with people using RB26 ATI balancers, the 25 pump seems to sit slightly differently to the 26 pumps.

i.e. I have an R32 RB25DE head and RB20 ancillaries, using an RB26 ATI balancer with RB26 pump/bracket. My mates 25t/30 with the same balancer, his 25 pump didn't line up.

I used an RB20 bracket with the RB20 pump, had to shorten bolt sleeve (cut down lug) and slot bolt holes to keep the belt straight but with a die grinder and hacksaw it wasn't hard just took a bit of time
