i wonder if all the gunky crap will block up the valves/damage the bores

would like to hear an engine builders opinion, just like engine flush, sure the manufacture says its all great, but is it?

I used to use this stuff all the time at my old work on the subaru's, it gets rid of and carbon build up around the valves and generally just cleans any gunk from the motor. Just don't inhale the exhaust fumes, insanely bad for you.

Its also really good for rusted or seized bolts and stuff, i used some when i did my turbo and made all the nuts/bolts easy to get of.

It's actually the PERFECT way to clean out the IACV.

Put it down the pipe that goes to it and open up!

Works a charm, and once it has cleaned everything out the cars normally idle much smoother once they've relearnt how to.

After doing a clean with it, it is often a good idea to reset the manual idle, and then reset the ECU so it can learn to idle again.

I use it, awsome stuff, however if the engine is old, the carbon on the ring lands can help the rings seal, this stuff will wash it away. Pretty lethal stuff though, especially what comes out the exhaust after

Agreed.. it is a very good cleaner.. but only recommended for horizontal motors as it is designed to remove the excess build up from the design of the motor it can be bad for a vertical motor..

older motors can rely on that build up to take up the gap in the rings etc...

i would not recommend unless it is a tight motor..

That said i have had a subaru tech telling me that they use it on every car they work on...
