hey all,

i just ordered a full set of cst hyper zero 1 in 18x9.5 +15...

i have a r32 gtst..

wondering, what size guards i would need 30mm, 40mm, 50mm..

also

still undecided,

what tire?

215/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear?

car is gonna be tracked (grip) and ppl have said the tire could pop off the rims with those sizes on the front?!

what do people think?

so you want the kool look of a drift car but the functionality of a grip car aint guna happen, 215/40 wont pop off, id go with a 215/45 though. with a 255/265 youd probably be looking at running at least 20mm overfenders.

5mm is a lot of difference when choosing tyres for guard clearance.

i used to own a set of cst's, dont have the pics on this comp if i remember when im on the other comp ill post em, they were 17x9.5 +15 and i ran federal SS595 215/45 all round, the rears fit with the lip rolled, the fronts were a little mexican definately needed a roll/flare or try 215/40 and a little camber.

  • 2 weeks later...

still undecided on this!

i wanna run a 235 allround (federal 595ss)

if i run 3 deg camber on the front and get as close to 0 on the rear will they fit?

otherwise a 215 on the front and a 235 on the rear..

more camber on the front is gonna help with grip anyway!

hmm..

i have had a 18x9 +15 on the front with a 235/40 that didnt stretch.. and they fit fine.

and also a 18x10 +22 on the rear with a 235 and they were fine..

so should fit with a 235 on the front with 3deg camber..

im not telling im stating what i have done in the past, and a 9.5 +15 is still a fair whack more to fit under a guard than a 9 +15.

its more to gather info on what others have run, and see if anyone has run these setups on the odd occasion on the track..

in no means telling anyone what to do!
