Well, today and yesterday i went looking for wheels my r33. What a mission. I have $1300 to spend on rims. I dont need tyres. Im looking for 18x9 or 18x8.5 preferably dished. Everywere i have gone they either offer me 3 peice wheels or KOYA wheels which dont make the rims i like in my prefered size.

I never knew how hard it was to buy new wheels. Especially in Brisbane. and the prices here compared to syd are like double or close to it.

What sites are there where i can get import wheels or whole sale wheel companies.

Thanks

Harun

That would be handy... does anyone know any good Jap sites that have a wide range of rims (no not Nengun or Tashikira)

$1300 won't get you much in the way of rims.. even a 2nd hand set of 17" will cost you 1$k or so. I paid $1100 for my set of 17" chromie zepters (jap) about a year ago.

You may have to lift the budget a bit to get a nice set of 18"

It's a hard task finding decent wheels in Australia.

It's either cheap shit, heavy, fully soft Aussie branded, Indonesian made shit or murderously expensive imported Japanese rims.

And the Aussie 'designs' are either in poor taste or very bad copies.

I would scarcely believe 25kg rims are the norm!

I just bought some 18's second hand off a guy on SAU. 18 x 7.5 and 18 x 8.5's with 90 percent tread on the tyres for $1700. And they were by no means crap rims. Japanese made Manaray Sport VR5 Quests.

Theres some fantastic second hand bargains out there. To buy the VR5's new without rubber is $1500 for 4.

    • Yeah was thinking that. I've had the car go lower idle possibly around 650rpm every once in a long time after pouring fuel and would sound quite rough like a misfire, almost like it's shit fuel or something but who knows.

Great event last year and hoping for the same this year.    I've emailed them to ask to set a location aside for the Stageas for the show and shine - they are happy to do so if we can get them numbers, I'm happy to keep track of that. Entering as Nismo category.    I'll be road tripping up from Melbourne, would be cool to convey if people are interested, maybe there is SAU convoys from each capital? If you have ideas about that let me know.    https://gtrfestival.com.au
