Saw like a 'Nismo Light up screen' on an r33 the other nite

It was like a little thing on the side quarter window of a 33 at southport carpark, it basically went .. 'N.. I .. S .. M .. O' then flashed etc in colours

the nismo was in running writing too,

anyone know about these? where do u get them from?

saw it on 2 r33s that nite, havent seen them anywhere online/mag etc

It's an EL (Electro-Luminescent) Sticker/Badge.

You can buy the EL sheeting from Car Audio Stores and wire it up yourself.

Try www.pccasegear.com.au - EL cable of all kinds; 12V compatible -- meant for PC's, though no doubt a little soldering or such would get it to work.

A few guys here have them. A little tacho that lights spins around, then lights up their club name.

Really neat.

A mate also has his number plates backed with EL, so that when he has them on, his plates glow white through the letters/numbers.

His plates read: 31337 with the writing underneath saying "W3 UNDERSTAND j00"

yeh i got one of those, when i was in hong kong some guy was selling it on the street.. There is all types, nismo apexi every performance brand around...They light up in different patters and stuff...Its pretty cool, but cops again dont like it as i got told off for it once...

The one i saw was Nismo in running writing, and was like multicolored etc

was about 20cm long and about 10cm high on the back quarter window of a 33

was a chicky driving too!!

The nismo one looked mad, me and some mates saw it and were stopped in our tracks in awe

one of my mate has on with a NISMO logo and has a switch installed on the inside just in case of cops etc....looks nice even with the dark tint he has.

I wonder if it would be possible to put a relay of your tacho on the back of the car somewhere? So people can watch your revs as you disappear into the distance.

Go to Malaysia and get em. They sell it with a 12Volt Cigarette adaptor plug and voltage converter and then u buy whatever pattern you like. Nismo, Kakimoto, Apexi, Ralliart etc etc. There is a switch to change the light-up pattern of the letters.

I checked the price and it was converted to around 30AUD (which includes nismo sticker and the power adaptor). I figgered it too high a price to pay for 'rice'
