Where To Get Z32 Afm From?

I am in the market for a Z32 air flow meter for my r32 skyline with rb25det. Now I could buy one second hand but I am not sure if it is risky to do so, am I better off spending the extra for a brand new one?

If so where is usually the best place to get them from, nissan genuine spare parts? Or one of the various jap distributors?

Is an AFM fairly robust? Or do I want to be careful about where I purchase them from?

Wouldn't want to get a shoddy one that makes tuning difficult or dies after a few months due to sitting in a dusty garage.

Watch out for ebay because there are fake Nissan AFMs out there. You can import them new from japan; nengun.com, greenline.jp, perfectrun.com.au etc for about $350 new (iirc)

Always better to buy a new AFM IMO.

2nd hand ones generally aren't "that" much cheaper.

I would question ebay as well - SAU Trader even, some of them usually have competitive pricing on such items

I don't think you can get them for under very high 200's (295 etc) without stealing them.

What about the plug to adapt it to an r32 loom, can I just get a generic one from jaycar and wire it up? Or is it some specialised connector I need to buy as well?

$50 for a plug? Surely I can buy something for $5 and wire it up myself, its just a piece of bloody plastic. I love the skyline tax on everything

If the plug is the same, is there any possibility the air flow meter is also the same? Guess I'll be making a trip down to the wreckers this weekend, they are a 6 pin plug yes?
