Shifting Techniques

Recommended Posts

Hey s13drifter are you in Melb??

I wouldn't mind seeing this done as i'm a bit reluctant to do it to my box.

It's already playing up a bit (it's short shifted) ... I've tried no clutch and it makes this crunch when you pull it out!

S13drifter, "get the gears angled which would make it like straight cut gears but not as severe"? I've got no idea what you're on about. I also don't know what a "double synchro" is. Can you elaborate on both?

Now that my Daikin Clutch has bedded in perfect i've been throwing around the gears much quicker over the last few weeks just practicing.

If you want to do quicker gear changes -regardless- of what technique you use the first thing you need to do is get some Redline Oil.

This stuff is smoother than an 18yr old chick with a razor.

Touring cars have dog engagement boxes with no synchros. Same as with most modern sports motorcycles. You can actually shift back without the clutch as well (I do it on my bike), it's just more awkward and you're more likely to lose traction.
